24.01.2022 Intelligibility is an overall measure of how much of your child's speech people can understand, and provides a great, functional way of tracking progress in therapy. If your child is not meeting these figures, reach out to a Speech Pathologist for an assessment.

22.01.2022 Well it has certainly been an eventful start back for 2021!!! Nurture Nest will be back in full swing next week - until the 22nd of January in order to maintain everyone's safety and in-line with the recommendations of Speech Pathology Australia, telehealth consultations are being offered to all families whose children would be thought to cope with that mode of service delivery. Let's face it, wearing a mask is not exactly conducive to cueing sounds, giving clear auditory si...gnals, modelling effective mealtime behaviours or teaching children about the wonders of non-verbal communication! There are a number of therapy approaches which work beautifully via telehealth. There are also some little people, or families, for whom this modality just won't work - in those cases, let's get creative - if this is you please chat to me about what we can do to get through this without losing our therapy's momentum. If you have a school or daycare visit scheduled and they are still happy for me to attend, I will be required to wear a mask and will support your little one to cope with this. Nurture Nest is, as always, observing hand hygiene, social distancing, appropriate disinfecting protocols for surfaces and resources and asking the same of families and staff. If you or anyone you have been in contact with present a health risk given the current Covid-situation, or are experiencing any of the symptoms of Covid-19, please contact me immediately. Thank you all for your patience and your caution

12.01.2022 ***WAITLIST CLOSED*** I have been absolutely overwhelmed with the power of word-of mouth since starting Nurture Nest just 1 short month ago. My roots are firmly down! I feel so incredibly blessed to be working with such beautiful and dedicated families.... Thank you for allowing me the chance to see your children grow, to work with a smile firmly on my face each and every day, to problem-solve with you, and to share this journey with you - on the bumpy paths as well as the smooth ones. Much as I would love to help everyone that comes my way I am only 1 person. At this time, I will be ceasing to accept waitlist requests. This is in the hope of providing a quality and timely service to my current families, and setting realistic wait-time expectations for families needing support - if you require therapy for your little one I encourage you to contact other Therapists in the area and do hope that you find something suitable soon. With thanks for your support and understanding.
