Lamb numbers totalled 9,355 as mentioned above today at Bendigo, with over half of the yarding being new season sucker Lambs. The suckers sold to a slightly cheaper rate but a bracket of $155-$170 covered majority of kill Lambs will a small sample of store Lambs making from $114-$135. Heavy old Lambs sold to better demand to be $5-10 dearer with one major exporter back at the rail. Old trade Lambs were cheaper with both major Supermarket chains changing to new season Lambs and demand softened. Store Lambs lacked the quality and lines of previous weeks but sold to strong demand from grain and grass finishers. No Merino Lambs or store lambs to quote on. Lamb numbers lifted with around 11,000 new season suckers. The quality was the best so far this year with all Agents having sucker Lambs in excess of 30kgs carcass weight leading their sales. These Lambs sold to solid demand with one exporter absent but another returning to buy for the first time in 6 weeks. Trade Lambs again found very strong competition to be +$5 dearer then last week. Majority of sucker Lambs are making $140-$165 per head. Old Lambs presented with good quality and once again rose above $200 per head for the best of the export weighted Lambs. Old Lambs came forward in larger numbers and sold to cheaper rates with the trade weights most effected. New season Lambs came forward in larger numbers and sold in a bracket from $155-$178 regardless of weight with one sale out to $192. Many drafts of new season Lambs had the second draft make more dollars per head then the top draft, highlighting the demand for trade Lambs and greatly decreased cents per kg for Lambs over 25kgs dressed. A large line of May, June drop Merino sucker Lambs ex Hay came forward and sold from $80-$130 per head. A total of 18,134 Lambs Lambs number lifted but overall quality was down on recent market with very few heavy weight Lambs yarded. Heavy Lambs trended $15 to $20 cheaper with those in short skins and grain fed selling to solid enquire. Trade and light trade Lambs in short skins held firm on recent rates with Lambs in Spring shorn skins selling to decreased demand to be $10 cheaper. Merino Lambs came forward in good numbers but Lambs were either well finished weighing 22kgs dressed weight plus in short skins or less then 18kgs dressed weight presenting in forward store order ideal for a Muslim kill. Merino Lambs held value well in todays market. Which is leaving supermarkets and trade buyers to be slightly selective on these Lambs. 04.01.2022 Nutrien Ag Solutions Bendigo Lamb & Sheep Market Report 22nd June 2020 *********************... A cool start to the morning A total of 12,146 Lambs Lambs number dipped this week. The yarding comprised of mainly heavy and trade Lambs with a few Merino Lambs throughout. Heavy Lambs over 27kg met lacklustre demand selling to a cheaper trend. Trade Lambs and light trade Lambs met increased demand from domestic processors with majority of kill Lambs being sold between $200 and $230 regardless of weight. Processors again stepped into the store market to secure Lambs to feedlot for the Winter period. Heavy Lambs $215-$261; 700c-800c Av 750c -$10 Trade Lambs $205-$231; 780c-910c Av 830c +$5 Light Trade Lambs $193-$220; 820c-950c Av 890c +$10 Merino Lambs $137-$240; 770c-840c Av 790c Firm Feedlot Ready Store Lambs $155-$186 +$5 Light store Lambs $120-$165 +$5 A total of 4,369 Sheep Sheep numbers lifted slightly to a mixed market with heavy Sheep selling to a cheaper trend of $10-15 per head. Trade and light Sheep sold well again with a good sprinkling of younger Wethers through the yarding. Majority of Sheep traded between 640c-740c to average 690c. 03.01.2022 Nutrien Ag Solutions Bendigo Lamb & Sheep Market Report 25th May 2020 *********************... A total of 11,367 Lambs Lamb numbers dropped by roughly 3000. The yarding consisted of a better quality Lambs that have been well finished. Processors are paying a premium for Lambs in shorter skins of $15-20 per head due to increased yield and finish of those Lambs. Heavy Lambs were dearer by $10 with majority of the 30kgs plus Lambs making above $225 per head. Merino Lambs dropped in numbers but the quality was much better then last week with Lambs topping out at $250 per head with most good kill Lambs ranging between $175-$230 per head. Heavy Lambs $220-$299; 740c-840c Av 780c Trade Lambs $193-$231; 775c-880c Av 810c +$10 Light Trade Lambs $185-$212; 820c-930c Av 860c +$10 Merino Lambs $144-$250; 770c-850c Av 800c +$10-15 Feedlot Ready Store Lambs $154-$175 Firm Light store Lambs $108-$162 Firm A total of 2,143 Sheep Sheep numbers dipped. A total of 14,476 Lambs Lambs numbers lifted on the back of last weeks improved rates for export Lambs. The best of the Lambs today made to $300 a head and demand for export Lambs 30kgs carcass weight plus lifted to finish with a dearer trend. The best of the light trade Lambs ignited bidding with the news of the restaurant trade opening back up in the future. Merino Lambs came forward in large numbers totalling 4500. They sold to a slightly cheaper trend for lambs lacking carcass finish and being in the 20-24kgs bracket. Quality was mostly responsible for this cheaper trend with skin values again being $5-10 unless the Lambs present with 50mm plus of Wool. Heavy Lambs; $214-$300 730c-820c Av 765c Trade Lambs; $182-$218 750c-840c Av 790c Firm Light Trade Lambs; $170-$201 790c-900c Av 830c Firm Merino Lambs; $128-$205; 740c-810c Av 760c -$5-10 Feedlot Ready Store Lambs; $150-$177 Firm Light store Lambs; $108-$167 Firm A total of 4,326 Sheep. Sheep numbers lifted and the yarding comprised of some good quality Sheep, but these runs were of trade weight being 20-28kgs dressed. Heavy XB Sheep lost $10-15 per head due to a processor absence but Merino Sheep especially those recently off shears found solid demand to be firm.
