25.01.2022 A few tips to help us get to the other side of Christmas not feeling like a bloated beached whale

25.01.2022 Never too late, never too busy, never too anything to start on something you really want to or feel you need to do. Find a way. Just start asking the right questions.. and opportunities will follow . . . #startnownottomorrow... #lifedirection #wholebodyhealth See more

23.01.2022 You need to be aware of a problem or unfavourable circumstance to create change around it. Agree? The next step is to take responsibility for your part in the problem - things may not be your fault (directly) but we are always responsible for how we respond and what we choose to do about it. Recognize if you need help and seek it.. a little help can go a long way!

23.01.2022 Slice of bushwalking heaven for the day, I don't know what I'd do without it Find even just 15 minutes to go for a walk - in the morning, during a lunch break, after dinner - especially in/around nature - watch the difference in the way you feel physically and mentally. Mood, productivity, stress levels, you name it Little habits, big results @ Newcastle, New South Wales

22.01.2022 Missing pasta? Probably, if you're eating a gluten free diet or low carb. I feel much better eating gluten free and low carb, physically and mentally.. but boy do I miss pasta, especially when spag bol is on the menu for the kids! Sometimes I eat it anyway, but the symptoms I feel afterwards make me regret it. I've tried a few alternatives but I really enjoy this pasta from Slendier found in the health food section of the supermarket. Gluten free and a fraction of the carbs and calories, it really satisfies my pasta cravings - with no regrets (no affiliation, just a product I like!)

21.01.2022 I love Halloween but if you're anything like me, I've always been one to: 1) Raid the kid's treats they bring back from trick or treating. 2) Eat the leftovers of treats I buy for the kids that come to our door. 3) Overeat far beyond enjoying the treats and end up with treat remorse.... So here are some tips to make this less bad than it has to be. 1) Eat an early big, substantial nutritious dinner before all the treating. 2) keep drinking water - you're less lkely to overeat when you're full of water and it's a bit sickening too. 3) A tsp of Apple cider viengar in water will 10x this last tip! 4) If you're buying treats to hand out, buy ones you don't personally like. If I buy chocolates they don't stand a chance but those halloween lollies can sit there for months, chips too. 5) Don't start with just 1! While having a few lollies and chocolates isn't that "bad" at all - it's often a lot harder to stop once you've started. 6) Buy yourself some quality dark chocolate to have so you're not missing out but don't get all the sugar. Feel free to add some more tips for not overeating on junk food on Halloween if you'd rather not have treat remorse!! Otherwise have a great weekend! Happy Halloween!

21.01.2022 Cheers to good health

18.01.2022 A sad truth. Agree?

17.01.2022 Some low carb entertaining inspiration!

14.01.2022 I'm not getting sick of this anytime soon! One of my favourite regular meals as part of living a low carb lifestyle.. eggs, mushrooms, ham, cherry tomatoes, baby spinach and avocado. Cooked in the same pan, so fast and simple! Oh and the chutney just makes it

13.01.2022 Self talk matters! When you look in the mirror, or make a mistake, how do you talk to yourself? Do you put yourself down? Would you say that to your best friend, or your child? Chances are (hopefully) you want to make your loved ones feel good about themselves, and be forgiving, and encouraging.... I think all too often we don't do the same for ourselves and it's our feelings and opinion of ourselves that matters the most. Treat yourself like your best friend. Because really, you are

11.01.2022 Post gym lunch today. So quick, nutritious AND tasty! 5 minute salmon in the air fryer (skin went crispy) and I just put the other stuff on the plate while I was waiting. Salad greens, avocado, bit of leftover pumpkin, pine nuts, fermented cabbage. Simply what I had in the fridge. This gave me quality protein, a variety of healthy fats, fiber, gut friendly fermented veggies, micronutrients and some good carbs. ... Just the thing for recovery, nourishment and enjoyment of food!!

05.01.2022 Low Carb/Keto Gluten free Almond Cookies Great for a Christmas treat or any time at all 2 1/2 cups Almond Flour 1/4 cup granulated stevia / erythritol blend. I like Natvia. 1/4 tsp sea salt... 1/2 cup butter, softened 2 tsp vanilla essence About 16 almonds to top Preheat oven to 180 C Combine dry ingredients in bowl. Add butter and vanilla essence. Combine thoroughly. Create small handful sized balls and flatten slightly with a fork. Top with an almond. Bake for 10 - 13 minutes. The cookies will be very soft. Let them cool on the baking tray for several minutes before moving them to cooling rack. I've sprinkled the lot of these with about 1/2 tsp icing sugar in total, so the amount of sugar is quite negligible, but this is just for appearance - so feel free to leave that out. Enjoy!!

05.01.2022 1st day of Spring.. what a perfect time to start something you've been meaning to! New healthy habits for example.. in time for summer . DM me or comment below if you'd like to know how I can help

04.01.2022 Why a lower carb approach? I promote a whole food lifestyle - real food and back to basics.. with a little room for exceptions! I call it a lower carb approach because once we concentrate on getting what we need in - an abundance of fresh veggies, moderate quality protein (whether it's plant based or animal and plant based), plenty of healthy fats, nuts, seeds and some fruit - there is far less room for the huge amount of highly refined carbohydrate/sugar content that mo...st of us are so accustomed to. There is no one size fits all when it comes to what we need to eat to thrive. We have different body types, energy expenditures, food sensitivities, gut microbiomes, etc. However I strongly advocate that this forms a solid basis for a good health promoting diet for the vast majority of people. My lower carb approach is not about cutting out all the carbs - it's about choosing foods which nourish our body - and most of these foods happen to have less carbs. It is when working within this framework we can find balance. Feel free to add you thoughts or questions :) . . . . . #whatshouldieat #lowercarb #nutritionistlife #wholefoodsimply #certifiednutritionist See more

01.01.2022 Yummy homemade natural gummy lollies Lana helped me make these the other day. We had these gorgeous little moulds (I tried to show the cat) but they aren't necessary, we also made "snakes" and cubes with orange and mango flavors. They're made from quality gelatin which is great for your gut lining and gut repair, immunity, bones, joints, muscle tissue and firmer glowing skin! ... We added some Natvia sweetener to enhance the flavour and sweetness (erythritol and stevia - very safe). Worked a treat For the strawberry flavour About a punnet of strawberries 2 tbsp Natvia 2 tbsp organic grass fed gelatin About 1 cup water. If you're going to make this, get your gelatin from a health food store, make sure it's grass fed. Experiment with consistency as you like - the less liquid the firmer like gummy bears it gets. Otherwise it's more like regular jelly, which is great too. Best to follow directions on the gelatin pack at first. Let me know if you make them and how you go!

01.01.2022 Appetite regulation This is one more awesome thing about losing weight with a nutritious low carb lifestyle rather than simply trying to cut calories and eat low fat - besides being able to eat a huge variety of delicious foods which you’ll actually enjoy! As we focus on health - adopt a lifestyle with the right foods, the right amount of exercise, quality sleep and stress management, our bodies return to balance and regulate our hormones which control appetite and fat stor...age, a few main ones being insulin, ghrelin and leptin. Then we are much less likely to overeat, and we are able to burn our fat stores as fuel - something that most of us who have been raised on a high sugar/carbohydrate diet simply don’t do. You don’t need to go hungry. You don’t need to be bored with your food. I get it, it’s confusing because there is so much conflicting information out there (much of which is offered by those who aren’t qualified to offer it). But when we get back to basics, weight loss is just one natural result - think what it would be like to have more energy, reduced cravings, better skin, less bloating, clearer thinking, improved mood, and just not feel like bloody sh*t all the time!! If you’re struggling with any of these issues, are looking for answers or you’d like to know more about how I can help you, comment below or send me a PM :)
