23.01.2022 So fortunate to be able to live on our property and work in our small business. Whilst eating lunch I spotted a pair of golden whistlers outside catching insects Tried to take photos with my phone but of course hard as they are never still for long enough especially if you try to get close!

23.01.2022 Ben and Hannah delivered plants earlier this week.

23.01.2022 Today marks 20 years since registering our business name ‘Nuts About Natives’. We started our small business with a passion for Australian native plants and a desire to make them more available as cut flowers, garden plants and importantly for restoring biodiversity back to some of our degraded bushland. Being a contract based, wholesale nursery all the plants have been specifically grown to meet our client’s needs. 20 years and over a million plants later (including some of the rarest and never before cultivated species) our business is going stronger than ever. Sincere thanks to everyone that has helped us along our journey, our clients, colleagues and most importantly our wonderful staff past and present.

22.01.2022 The gorgeous Adenanthos cuneatus with new growth for summer. We love these in the garden and so do all the honeyeater species. Notice the tiny flower, the inspiration for our logo, a single proteaceae flower.

21.01.2022 Yesterday we made a bunch of native flowers from the garden for the kids school quiz night. We donated for the silent auction to raise funds for the school library. A very happy couple won the final bid and were thrilled to get them.

20.01.2022 Off on a delivery to Zanthorrea with some tube stock for their lovely garden centre

17.01.2022 ‘Nuts About Natives’ is a small contract based wholesale plant propagation business operating since October 2000. Our focus is on indigenous plants from and for the south-west of Western Australia. We are a member of the Nursery and Garden Industry of WA (NGIWA) and our nursery is fully accredited by the Nursery Industry Accreditation Scheme Australia (NIASA) ensuring our plants are produced using industry best practise and that our clients receive plants of the highest stand...ards. We propagate a very diverse range of species (generally from wild collected and provenance correct material) mainly for clients involved in revegetation including mining companies, local government, state government (e.g. BGPA, DPAW) and community groups as well as garden centres that specialise in native plants. Our business is located 50km south of Perth and facilities include a fully equipped nursery for propagating plants from cuttings and seeds and a purpose built tissue culture laboratory and a seed technology laboratory for research and production of highly recalcitrant species.

15.01.2022 As always, it's a pleasure to supply plants to the dedicated volunteers at Cottesloe Coastcare

07.01.2022 Ben is giving a presentation about our nursery

04.01.2022 For over 20 years I've held a license for Cottesloe Coastcare to collect seed for our restoration efforts along the Cottesloe foreshore. We collect what we need... to grow several thousand seedlings a year. Nuts About Natives and APACE WA nurseries grow beautiful plants for us. We have only a few remaining plants of some species and then cutting material is the way to go. Our approach has always been to use local provenance seed - in football parlance this equates to a 'home side advantage'. It works for our team! See more

02.01.2022 We are extremely fortunate to have these guys on our property. A young Sand goanna (Varanus gouldii) on patrol looking for any grass hoppers or other insects under our benches. Great for pest management in our nursery
