21.01.2022 Today is Dietitians Day and I am proud to be an APD (Accredited Practising Dietitian)! (For my non Australian followers that is the equivalent to a Registered Dietitian! Dietitians don't just work in hospitals - we work across a huge range of areas associated with nutrition, food and health! Take my work at the moment - I work in nutrition research and nutrition education at a university, am Lead Dietitian and co-founder of a nutrition start up, I work in science and nutritio...n communications, and finally I travel the world so I can provide travel nutrition advice to people and corporate workplaces! If you are scratching your head wondering what a dietitian is - we are nutritionists with additional training to be able to treat people with diet and nutrition therapies for a whole range of conditions/illnesses and also for preventative purposes. 21.01.2022 Want to know how I understand the frequent flyer lifestyle and why I'm well positioned to provide realistic nutrition and dietary advice while travelling? Well I'm nearly there again to hit Qantas Platinum (Oneworld Emerald)! Only 40 more status credits needed Nutrition is so important to get right when travelling, especially if you are always in the air! And it depends on so many factors including when you are flying, the length and number of flights, which class, which l...ounges you have access too (if you have access), and your medical and diet history. I take all that into account when providing advice either to individuals or in corporate settings to groups! Im starting to plan my work schedule for 2020 so contact me if you are interested in my services. And remember... I'm a travel dietitian and nutritionist so I'm happy to travel anywhere around the world. So don't think just cause I'm in Australia I can't come see you or your workplace! (PS my last name is blocked out as I work under my maiden name of Adamski but my frequent flyer account is in my married name)

18.01.2022 Another interesting airline foodie announcement, this time coming from Air Zealand! Love to know the nutrition of these cups and what they are made from! Will have to do a little research! But would you eat an edible cup? https://www.traveller.com.au/air-new-zealand-trials-edible-

13.01.2022 Feeling a little jet lagged myself this morning after flying in from Europe late last night, this article headline caught my eye this morning. I am very much looking forward to seeing the results from this research (especially regarding food and jet lag) and I really hope Qantas and Charles Perkins Centre, University of Sydney published there findings so nutrition professionals such as myself can use the research to help advise patients on food choices when flying. https://www.theage.com.au//your-jet-lag-is-worse-than-it-s
13.01.2022 New nutrition lounge review of the new Finnair Platinum Wing in Helsinki! I made sure I checked this lounge out as soon as it was renovated! Hope you find the review helpful! https://www.nuttedoutnutrition.com.au/nutrition-review-fin/

12.01.2022 New Food and Nutrition Lounge Review - Qantas First Class Lounge, Sydney. I love visiting this lounge (I first visited it nearly 10 years ago)! But what do I think of the food options in terms of nutrition? Check out my food and nutrition review of this lounge to help guide you in your food choices. https://www.nuttedoutnutrition.com.au/nutrition-review-qan/
12.01.2022 New nutrition lounge review! This time I have headed over to the Qantas London Lounge! If you fly out of Heathrow T3 regularly then check out my review to help guide you on which foods to choose! https://www.nuttedoutnutrition.com.au/nutrition-review-qan/
11.01.2022 Well now this is interesting! Gate Gourmet now entering the ready-to-eat meal sector while the airline industry is quite. While they don't deliver, they seem to be very well priced and so might be an option for some people. Now while you might at first be thinking ugh airline food, I do wonder whether having control over how you reheat it might help with the quality (no over steamed or cooked veggies for exampke). I'm thinking I might try them (not that I use ready-to-eat mea...ls) but just so I can check them out for you! Would you try them???? https://www.dailymail.co.uk//Catering-supplier-Gate-Gourme
10.01.2022 If you are a healthcare professional interested in upskilling in nutrition, this course is excellent. I am involved in the NNEdPro Global Centre for Nutrition and Health through my role with Monash Nutrition and I am delighted to be a part of such leading group in nutrition. I've been to the Summit a number of years in Cambridge and love it.
10.01.2022 I'm sorry I have been a bit quite lately, however I was working on my PhD, and I am happy to say my 2nd paper of my PhD has just been published (hot off the press - it was published yesterday!). "Using the Internet: Nutrition Information-Seeking Behaviours of Lay People Enrolled in a Massive Online Nutrition Course" Published in Nutrients, in their special edition on Nutrition Education in Medicine, it is open access so available for any one to have a read! https://www.mdpi.com/2072-6643/12/3/750/htm
10.01.2022 New Food and Nutrition Lounge Review for all my followers who regularly fly to Europe - more specifically Berlin Tegel! You can get from the curb to the gate with only a few steps, so is it worth a detour to the British Airways Lounge? https://www.nuttedoutnutrition.com.au/nutrition-review-bri/
08.01.2022 So after yesterday's post I've gone and done it - I will be picking up a range of lunch and dinner meals from Gate Gourmet next week. So even though I may be grounded from flying more than I would like, it doesn't mean I can't still provide you with travel nutrition advice on airplane meals!
07.01.2022 I hope the research from this flight and and the Qantas New York-Syd flight will be published so us healthcare professionals can use this to better advise our patients/clients. Having learnt more about Chrono-Nutrition and shift workers from my fabulous colleagues at Monash Nutrition, I have been researching how this research may apply to frequent flyers and timezone changes, and what this means for their eating patterns and food recommendations. It will be great to have res...earch conducted actually on board to help strengthen our understanding of Chrononutrition and travel. Especially since both these flights are going opposite ways around the globe - research suggests this may impact on our body clocks in different ways (watch out for my blog on this). I know I always feel much better going East -West, rather than travelling from West-East. Lets see what the research says! https://www.traveller.com.au/qantas-project-sunrise-nonstop
06.01.2022 Interesting move by British Airways - I am not surprised by them offering these kinds of meal in Economy and even Premium Economy (I've flown Premium Economy with them from Aus to UK before and one meal was in a box with a sandwich etc but that was always the second snack type meal), BUT First Class and Business Class on a long haul I would expect more. I will be very interested from a nutrition perspective what these will be like. Pre-packaged and more processed foods are n...ot usually the best quality or most nutritious (Obviously there are exceptions) so I will be interested in what is served. And once I find out I will let you know what I think and how you can best fly if faced with eating these. And boxes aren't a full surprise to me - as an Aussie who regularly flies Qantas domestic in economy I am quite used to a meal in a cardboard box being thrust at me. And I can tell you those aren't great and as a dietitian I usually avoid if I can! Thanks Executive Traveller for giving us a heads up of what to expect on BA!
06.01.2022 New announcement from Qantas unveiling their new spring menu items in their business and first class lounges, along with their on-board meals! I'll be reviewing their new First Class and Business Class lounge offerings in a couple of weeks from a nutrition perspective - it will be interesting to see if their claims of a 'lighter' menu are delivered! Upgrade Your Travel Life you will be happy to see an Affogato dessert on the menu! ... https://www.news.com.au///d808e3ae2137456af2e92f58c681144c
05.01.2022 A quick glimpse at the food option at the British Airlines Lounge at Tegel (Berlin) Airport - this lounge is interesting as all food are prepared or prepackaged (I suspect no kitchen). No while the choices aren't 5 star I think they do pretty well with what they have - I could easily make a healthy small meal of vegetable crudites, cheese and high fibre crackers. But the only hot option was a wrst in a white bread roll- so not very healthy and an easy trap if you feel like something hot.
05.01.2022 So excited to see people using the app I am co - founder of TLRT Foods! Especially a fellow dietitian! Thanks for sharing Danni from Fresh Start Dietetics!
03.01.2022 New Nutrition Lounge Review - American Express Centurion Lounge Hong Kong! 03.01.2022 New Nutrition Lounge Review available - British Airways (Galleries) Lounge in Singapore! If you transit through Singapore often and are a Oneworld Sapphire or Emerald, or are flying in a premium cabin on BA then this review is for you! You will always find me in here instead of next door at Qantas - is it because of the food? Read my review to find out! https://www.nuttedoutnutrition.com.au/lounge-nutrition-rev/
02.01.2022 Would you go to a restaurant/cafe that served plane food? Guess it depends on the class and airline! https://www.traveller.com.au/airasias-santan-the-worlds-fir
02.01.2022 As co-founder and one of the Lead Dietitians, I am so excited the TLRT QR code is beginning to appear in cafes and restaurants in Melbourne! Our goal is to help people who have a food allergy, food intolerance or dietary preference understand more about which dishes are appropriate for them when eating out! We do go above and beyond the standard gluten free, vegetarian and vegan classifications - we currently have 20 food preference classifications such as egg allergy, onion and garlic intolerance, no added sugar, no pork and not suitable for pregnancy. If you have a favourite cafe or restaurant tell them to get in contact with us - AND also watch out for the launch of our app later in the year! The app will mean you can access our menu reviews from anywhere!
02.01.2022 I have long hated the breakfasts served on Qantas Business Class flights between Australia and Asia - the quality is quite frankly just not there. I love eggs for breakfast and the brioche bun is just sub-standard (and that is even going there in terms of nutrition)! Sounds like they are starting to listen to feedback - it would be great to see better quality and more nutritious options on the menu though! https://www.ausbt.com.au/qantas-upgrades-business-class-bre
