20.01.2022 I'm about to do a couple of NVPC builds, for a client and myself. Got the parts ready, this will be fun. :)

20.01.2022 I'm preparing a custom "NVPC Diamond" system for a client in Perth, and I'll make the same build for myself (and my family) too. I think this will be a good build, with good quality parts, but still good value for money. Cost is $2,418 with my "first 5 customers get $100 off" promo.

19.01.2022 I'm designing an AU $500 computer build. I thought it wouldn't be possible to build a good quality new gaming PC for ~$500, but it turns out that the less expensive AMD processors have decent integrated graphics (Vega 8), which is good enough to get started with PC gaming... and there's an excellent upgrade path going forward to put a discrete graphics card into it, add RAM, and upgrade the CPU.

13.01.2022 It just occured to me that the CPU I am using in my latest builds, the Ryzen 5 3600, is good enough to drive an RTX 2080 Ti without a major impact on FPS in almost all games. So for pure gaming, I think it would be better to upgrade the GPU all the way to the top, before considering to go to a very powerful CPU such as the i9 9900k. Indeed, for gaming I think it's not worth getting any CPU more powerful than a Ryzen 5 3600. What do you think?... The difference in average FPS is only about 2%: https://www.gpucheck.com//nvidia-geforce/amd-ryzen-5-3600/ https://www.gpucheck.com//nvi/intel-core-i9-9900k-3-60ghz/ Also here: https://www.reddit.com//would_it_be_unbalanced_to_pair_a_/ Even for pure CPU-bound tasks, the i9 9900k is only 10% to 14% faster for up to 4 cores load (and presumably up to 6 cores). So, while the more expensive GPU can make a significant difference, I think it's not worth paying more than double to get a ~10% CPU boost. The boost to FPS will certainly be less than 10%, and gpucheck.com said it is only 2%. https://cpu.userbenchmark.com//Intel-Core-i9-99/4028vs4040

11.01.2022 In addition to building custom computers, we can also: - fix and upgrade computers - help with software problems - create custom software - make and host web pages and sites, including custom web apps, plain HTML / CSS / JS sites, and wordpress sites

10.01.2022 I think the first PC I built as NVPC turned out nicely. I wasn't too keen on RGB, but the client asked for it and I must admit it looks pretty! I made one exactly the same for me and my family. The build details are here, it's the "Diamond" model: https://nvpc.com.au/sheet I packed the PC carefully, padding out the sensitive internal components using all the original boxes and packaging materials, including the manuals and spare parts inside one box, also some additional padd...ing. I attached the GPU packaging box to the top of the parcel without folding it, as this component is most valuable, and most likely to be resold later, and the box can't fit inside the case. Let's hope the courier doesn't damage it too much! I included the shipping label and a "please take care" notice on each side of the package. Admittedly, this was a big effort, but it's not about the money at this stage. I didn't make any money on this build as I'm doing an "at cost" promotion for my first few clients. For now, it's about doing the best job that I possibly can. Next step, I will try to become quicker and more efficient, and make improvements to the process. Finally, I'll look to maintain good quality and start charging for the service, but still at a very reasonable rate. Thanks very much to my first client, for trusting me and giving me the opportunity to build for you.
