During the season there had been two washouts, both occurring when Penguins and Geronimo were scheduled to play each other, hence to a degree both teams were venturing into the unknown. With Penguins batting first, Geronimo were strong defens...Continue reading

16.01.2022 Friday night was Round 2 of Social Indoor Wheelchair Softball at Casey Stadium, Cranbourne. Top of the ladder teams Cranny Cats and Raptors were the first game ...of the night. The Raptors struggled missing their captain Roy, who had broken down on the way to the game and were also missing George from the lineup. The Cats who were missing their captain Vinny due to injury were too strong and took the win 59-37. The Raptors really struggled offensively and defensively. Highlight of the night was Cranny's fill in player, Rob smashing one deep for the competition's first home run of the season. Game 2 saw The Cobras take on Narre Waren Rolling Thunder. Narre Warren were still missing players and struggled against the hard hitting Cobras. The Cobras notched up their first win, winning 67-40, moving into 2nd place above the Raptors. Round 3 action hits off at 7pm with Raptors v Cobras and 8pm sees Cranny Cats v Narre Warren Rolling Thunder. 16.01.2022 Round 12 Match Report: The 2nd-placed Narre Warren Softball Club Penguins took on 3rd-placed MVPs on show diamond #8 in the Casey Softball Social Women’s competition. After a washout last week this was our first run around since Xmas, so everyone was keen to get amongst it. Offensively, we fired up early, scoring four runs in the first inning and three in the second. Highlights included outfield hits to Megan x2, Brenda, Kara, Vanessa, Lynne and Deb. In the third inning, shar...p fielding by MVP kept us scoreless. Defensively, Kara and Kyla shared the pitching duties, recording a pair of strikeouts each and Lynne making three strong throws across the diamond from third base for outs. A shutout in the first inning then saw MVP bounce back to score five. In the bottom of the third we quickly got two outs, then MVP strung together a few hits scoring two runs. With the score now tied and bases loaded, a big strikeout ended the game ... a Draw! An exciting game for the spectators, a heart thumper for the coaches, and great hard work by players on both teams. A week off now as U14 State Championships are played, with Penguins resuming Sat/22/Feb. #GoNarre #GoPenguins #NarreSoftball #PenguinsRock #ThankYouGailForScoring #MVPPlayedGreat #AddYourOwnHashgTagsInTheCommentsImTired

09.01.2022 Round 10 Match Report: The Narre Warren Softball Club Penguins took on Chickasaw of Berwick on show diamond #1 in the Casey Softball Social Women’s competition. A good fun game highlighted by both teams working hard to play their best, and we welcomed Megan for her first game with the Penguins. Offensively, we scored 2 runs in the first, with a safe hit to leftfield by Tracey scoring Lynne, and then a safe hit to centrefield by Brenda scoring Tracey. In the second innings we ...scored 7 runs, highlighted by a 3-RBI hit to centrefield by Brenda, along with RBI's to Lynne, Debbie, and Megan. The third innings saw two runs scored via the hot bat again swung by Brenda. Chickasaw shut us out in the fourth. A strange scorebook as we struck-out seven times and recorded six safe hits. #ThatsTheWayTheCookieCrumblesSometimes Defensively, with Kyla pitching to Brenda, we managed three innings of shut-out ball, with a combo of strikeouts (x4) and nice fielding, including a double play where Sam caught a pop-up and combined with Lynne throwing first-base to third-base for the second out. In the fourth inning Chickasaw got on the board after a nice outfield hit to Jasmine. At time and game we were victorious 11-1. Another game of skill improvement along with progress on our game knowledge. It was nice to hang around for a while post-game for some socialising. Off for Xmas break now, with play resuming Sat/1/Feb. Merry Xmas to all past and present Narre members, players, supporters and family, stay safe. See you on the diamond in 2020 for more NWSC fun. #GoNarre #GoPenguins #NarreSoftball #PenguinsRock #SantaHatWasPromisedButNotDelivered #TimeForXmasBreak #ThanksForScoringJulz #SamHasTimeToWriteThisBookSheKeepsBabblingOnAbout #DontMentionEyebrowsToLynne #EBG #ThankYouMegan #2020SoftballAtTheOlympics #Y2KWasTwentyYearsAgo #ThatHasNothingToDoWithSoftballButIsStillAmazing #GoodLuckAtNationalsWheels #CoachesHaveNotedTheLackOfXmasPrezziesWithATouchOfDisappointment #OnlyJoking #MerryXmasEveryone #AddYourOwnHashTag
08.01.2022 Narre Warren Softball Club has a long and proud tradition of representation at higher levels. While we aren't the dominant force of yesteryear, the tradition continues - we have had three reps on the national stage this summer. In December Jordan Miller represented Victoria at Blacktown in the U/18 Men's National Championships. Last week Richard Barrow was the TCU at the Open Men's National Championships at Blacktown, and this week Chelsea Kimber rounds out the summer representing Victoria at the U/18 Women's National Championship, also at Blacktown. #GoNarre #GoVic #NarreProud
