11.01.2022 Good afternoon College community, Well done to you all - we have made it to the end of Term 3. I don't think that any of us, this time last year, could have predicted the events of 2020 so far. it has been challenging, but it is through challenge that we grow, and we grow successfully by supporting one another through the challenge. That is something at which our community excels, and something of which we can all be immensely proud. Students will be dismissed, both from o...n-site supervision and online learning, at 2.30PM tomorrow. Please see Compass for important information about our staged return to on-site learning in Term 4 If you are unsure about anything, or have any questions or concerns, please contact us on 9704 3333 or [email protected]. I wish you all all a safe and happy Term 3 Holiday break. Look after yourselves, and one another. Kind regards, Liz Swan Acting Principal
10.01.2022 Great news! We are ahead of where we thought we would be in driving down coronavirus numbers. Thanks to the efforts of all Victorians, today we announced that A...LL primary students in metro Melbourne can return to face-to-face teaching in the week of October 12. This is a wonderful outcome for all primary students, but particularly for Year 6 students in their final year of school. It’s such a milestone year in young people’s lives and I know how much everyone was hoping for a quick return. They can now celebrate their last ever term in primary with their schoolmates and teachers, and look forward to the exciting transition to secondary school. We always said that as soon as we got public health advice, we would return other students to face-to-face teaching. All metro primary students will join special school students and VCE and VCAL students in face to face teaching on site. Schools will make local decisions on what day students return during the week of the 12th. Remote learning continues to play a key role in significantly reducing the movement of people across the state. For that reason, a decision has not yet been made on the return of secondary students in years 7 to 10. As always that will be guided by our health experts and the state’s coronavirus numbers. A massive thank you to all of the school staff, parents and carers, and our students who have played a huge role in making remote learning work. You have all made a big difference to our success as the coronavirus numbers continue to fall.
10.01.2022 Update regarding leadership at Narre Warren South P-12 College I would like to ensure that our school community is informed with Dr Peter Thatcher’s move to Victoria to commence as our new Principal. With the continuation of Victoria’s COVID Stage 4 restrictions and the latest advice that schools will continue elements of remote teaching & learning with staggered returns for term 4, it has been agreed that the start date for Peter will be mid-January, 2021.... Liz Swan will continue to act in the role until Peter is able to move to Victoria to take up the position. Kind regards, Greg Bailey School Council President
10.01.2022 Yesterday we celebrated our sensational graduating class of 2020. Things may have been a bit different, with no gorgeous gowns, sensational suits, proud parents or delicious dinner, but it was absolutely perfect in it’s own COVID-Safe way. There are not enough words to express how proud we are of each and every one of you, and all you have achieved in this extremely tough year. Your determination, resilience and positivity is simply infectious. Thank you to everyone involve...d in making yesterday happen. Ms Lackmann, Ms Ross and Ms Evans for your organisation and expert MC skills. Ms Prince, Ms Hicks and Alissa Mohammed for their expert photography and video skills throughout the day. Tina, Dave, Kylie and everyone who helped in the preparation of the certificates and bears. Our Acting Principal Liz Swan and special guest star Rob Duncan for their precision in presenting our graduates. Last but not least, thank you to the Rawlings family for making all the masks for our Graduation Bears - they were absolutely perfect!!
