25.01.2022 Awards season has officially started, and #NYFA was once again represented in this year’s nominations for the 72nd Primetime #Emmy Awards, announced yesterday morning. Here are all of the 2020 #Emmys nominations!

25.01.2022 Yesterday, Australian Prime Minister, Scott Morrison (ScoMo), visited the Gold Coast's Village Roadshow Studios to announce a $400 million incentive for international studios and filmmakers to produce their blockbuster films in Australia and on the same backlot NYFA Australia students shoot their films. Whilst visiting, the PM met with legendary Australian Director, Baz Luhrmann, who is in the middle of production at Village Roadshow Studios, shooting an Elvis Biopic with Tom... Hanks, to discuss ways to continue to expand job opportunities in the Australian film industry. This $400M plan is designed to help secure a pipeline of new film and TV work for Australian studios over the next seven years, as the industry and economy recover from the COVID-19 crisis. It will create thousands of jobs over the forthcoming years for a variety of Australians, including actors, filmmakers, screenwriters, sound and lighting technicians ...the list goes on. Australia is a safe place to work, boasting world-class production studios and a plethora of film location opportunities. The Gold Coast and Village Roadshow Studios have already been home to many major motion films such as: Aquaman, Thor: Ragnarok, San Andreas, Unbroken, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, The Shallows, and Kong: Skull Island. A variety of NYFA Australia students, alumni and faculty have been employed across several of these films, demonstrating that our community is one of talented and skilled industry professionals, all of whom are thrilled by the Australian Government's announcement to support our local film and television industry and plan for a bountiful future of entertainment jobs in Australia. #NYFAAustralia has an intake enrolling just around the corner, starting this September 2020. Consider the diversity of hi...s films, from "Bugsy Malone" to "Midnight Express" to Pink Floyd's "The Wall to The Commitments" - to name a few. I worked with Parker on a project that was said could never be made into a film. Boy did he prove those people wrong. Parker cast me as the title character of his psychological masterpiece, "Birdy." To say the experience transformed my life would be a massive understatement. The film is as delicate and fragile as one of the feathers of Birdy's beloved pets. Most importantly, "Birdy" addresses the physical and unseeable scars of combat veterans. Mr. Parker was a gentle, soft-spoken man throughout his life. On a film set, Mr. Parker was a fierce protector of integrity and had high artistic standards, and his kindness and talent will be greatly missed. 01.01.2022 Very few individuals have left such an impact on the world in such little time as Chadwick Aaron Boseman did. Before 2016, few households knew his name even th...ough he received critical acclaim for his work in the films "42," the biopic on baseball trailblazer Jackie Robinson and "Get On Up," where he portrayed the legendary James Brown. However, when he graced the screen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Captain America: Civil War as Prince T’Challa, he had arrived. While he played a pivotal part in that film, the world awaited for his true coronation, the film that shook the industry and shattered as many stereotypes as it did records, Black Panther. In a film that broke the mold of the Hollywood myths and stigma in Black cinema, Black Panther became the highest-grossing solo superhero film and, more importantly, the highest-grossing film by a Black director. Helmed by the talented Ryan Coogler (Fruitvale Station, Creed), the film was composed of a cast almost entirely of Black actors, set operators, designers and consultants, all representing the Black community.
