09.01.2022 On the weekend of NAIDOC week 7th & 8th November Nyngan LALC watched with some Boori in National Indigenous Touch Footy team, Thanks Marea Johnson- Manager & Jody Smith- Coach For given the Boori this opportunity They may not have won but they learn about teamwork, touch footy & communication All Boori did families & community proud. ... They had 6 weeks training to learn a whole new game compared to what sports they already played. Thanks ladies and all families who travelled to Dubbo for the weekend Thanks to the sponsors AGL & Aeris Mines. And Essential Energy for the canopy shelter.

01.01.2022 NYNGAN NAIDOC WEEK CELEBRATION Nyngan LALC would like to thank everyone who contributed to making NAIDOC week possible for our Community. COVID has taken a toll on social outings and people gathering but we managed a quite NAIDOC week Families came together to join as one. We started the week at Bogan Shire Council on Monday 9th with a small opening ceremony. Thanks BSC for setting up and assisting in this to go ahead.... Thankyou to the funding bodies who allowed us to make this possible. Aboriginal Affairs Aeries Tritton AGL Thankyou to allow the Boori who are proud to dance and show their culture. Connecting to Country is important for healing and our health and well being. On Wednesday Nyngan LALC partnered with Nyngan Community Hub to do an art experience with Wendy Beetson making keys rings and local Aboriginal artist Priscilla Lord in a joint painting for the Service Australian office. Thankyou Priscilla & Wendy. Thankyou Jamie McLennan for your mentoring, your knowledge and guidance you share with our Community. Special Thankyou to Marea Johnson Nyngan LALC Deputy Chair for arranging Jamie to come back to Nyngan and for all the little behind the scene things you do for our Boori & the LALC Nyngan LALC has a strong female board and each lady contributed to an event either at their own workplace & within Community. Thankyou ladies for your dedication for NAIDOC 2020 Friday 13th we were unable to hold a Community day due to limitations on Service Providers and COVID restrictions so we finished the week with a small family BBQ at Rotary Park. Thanks to the LALC board for managing activities to keep Boori entertained and social distanced Thanks to Mark Hartwig from Roads & Maritime Services for being apart of our family and swapping out old damaged bike helmets for new ones. Thankyou to Tim Naden from Goanna Woodworks for making us the message stick, & thanks to Andrew Taylor from Dept of Education Aboriginal Education Team for bring it to Nyngan, the message stick has visited community, schools and travelled with Jamie throughout the week before being handed back to Community today HAPPY NAIDOC WEEK Always was, always will be
