Any fitness goal from losing fat to building muscle is so much more achievable when you’re working with a healthy body. The same way we organise our sessions and give our all in the gym we need to have the same approach to our recovery and be just as proactive.... This can be as simple as improving your sleep schedule, pre planning your post training nutrition, planning active recovery for your days off or making time to maintain mobility. 10.01.2022 Good morning O2 Active readers and happy October! I love this time of year, there is something about it which gives me butterflies and gets me excited about what’s coming. The morning sun is rising before 6am and setting its intention over our beautiful city. The birds are chirping, the gardens and parks are full of colours and the sun is starting to beat its heat down on us. With the anticipation of summer, I am finding inspiration with where I am ... directing O2 Active and what my own personal goals are. Looking back on the last 12 months, I feel incredibly proud of my amazing O2 Active team and how we’ve persevered with the tougher times. Not to mention the incredible support we’ve had from our clients, who have become my treasured friends. We feel very blessed. The variation in client demand, the challenge of thinking outside the box on a daily basis and the difference in age groups attending our sessions is what we love what we do. This time of year is the perfect opportunity to get back into the swing of our favourite summer activities and to move more. With the increase of summer activities, increases the risk of soft tissue injuries so make sure you ease back into the swing of things and remember the importance of stretching and restorative work the significance of balance between working hard and working smart is vitally important. At the end of a tough exercise session, we use the 10% Rule. This means, if you have exercised for 60 minutes then it’s important you stretch for six minutes at the conclusion of your sweat sesh. Trust me, your body will thank you for it the next day. If you need stretches to target specific areas on your body chat to Cait or Jess after your session, we have a bank of great stretches for all parts of the body! We are so grateful to all of you for your continuous efforts on your fitness journeys, as much as our clients look to our team for inspiration - it is all of you that inspire our team every day. 03.01.2022 Happy summer and here is to our last O2 Active month for 2020! Can you believe it, the countdown has well and truly started for Christmas and with a blink of the eye it’ll be 2021. As we look back and reflect on the year, I can’t believe how much has changed. We have seen so many businesses, mine included, transition to online servicing, doing a complete turn on what they would normally offer. I have become a pro at "Zoom" video sessions and online training, but I have t...o say I greatly enjoyed getting back into our normal in-person classes over the last few months. Reflecting on the year, I have learnt so much as a business owner and a person. I have again discovered the power of community, how the smaller things in life can be the most valuable and how much I appreciate every single one of the O2 Active community, clients and staff. Without all of your support, 2020 may have been very different for me and I am eternally grateful your continued support. The Christmas period is when our hard work and routine tends to lack, so it’s time to start setting some goals for the New Year, ensuring that at the stroke of midnight (or a few days after), we switch back on with a strong healthy start to 2021. Speaking of goals and new year resolutions, we will have a very special business announcement in 2021.
