25.01.2022 Last night for training we had the use of a training trailer owned by the CFS, it has a fully functional Fire Indicator Panel (the same as what may be found in places such as hospitals, aged care facilities or large commercial buildings) in the rear of the trailer. This allowed our members to train and practice on how to operate and read a Fire Indicator Panel when we are called due to an activation of an alarm. Big thanks to Adam and Mitch from the CFS State Training Centre for bringing the trailer and providing the training!

22.01.2022 A fire that our crews attended at Mt Torrens yesterday is a timely reminder that just because summer is over the risk of fire is not. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=2354785477887649&id=252455201454031

22.01.2022 Tomorrow, Sunday the 31st of March we will be holding a BBQ at Balhannah Mitre 10, we will be there between 10am and 2pm, come along, grab a snag and support your local brigade!

20.01.2022 This morning two appliances from Oakbank/Balhannah responded to assist the Koala Rescue team with an injured Koala. The Koala was up 12 metres in a tree which meant the assistance of the SA Metropolitan Fire Service Bronto Aerial appliance was required. A few hours and the Koala was safe and taken for emergency care. A great example of South Australia's Fire Services working together for the community.

13.01.2022 Some of our members have been on Kangaroo Island helping with, these videos show some incredible fire activity. Taken from a Farm firefighter dedicating his time to the fire fight!

12.01.2022 This weekend the Balhannah Anytime Fitness are holding their 'Pre-sale Party' in anticipation of their opening, we will be hosting a sausage sizzle at the event, sausages will be a gold coin donation which will go towards fundraising for equipment for the brigade! We look forward to seeing you there!

12.01.2022 A great video demonstrating how a simple action can have a dramatic impact in the spread of a fire, so remember to 'Close before you doze!'

04.01.2022 HILLS BUSHFIRE BASH - SUNDAY 8 MARCH

03.01.2022 Last week crews from Oakbank/Balhannah CFS assisted at a Controlled Burn run by the Dept. of Environment and Water near Carey Gully. Despite mild conditions on the day, the high fuel loads allowed the fire to burn quite freely within the perimeter. Its a good reminder to clean up your property before the fire danger season because even on mild days a fire can spread quickly.
