As a church we love to make space for God by his Holy Spirit: what is he saying, doing, speaking through the WHOLE church, not simply those up the front. It might sometimes be messy, but new life is messy. EVERYBODY gets to play!

24.01.2022 Full of joy. What a weekend Who said church is boring?!

24.01.2022 In light of the recent developments on the Northern Beaches, our NSW premier has stated: 'Can I say to everybody in other parts of Sydney outside the Northern Beaches, please limit your activity....we are asking you to do this in good faith. We are asking you not to undertake non-essential travel, or non-essential activity'. While we are disappointed as this was to be our last physical gathering of 2020, we want to play our part in aiding efforts to quash this outbreak before... Christmas, so we can be with family and friends. Because of this: we are going to host a brief and interactive online service starting at 10am via Facebook Live. It will feature some carols, Christmas fun, and a short reflection from @cburke1989. Please be in touch if we can be of any assistance throughout these challenges.

Twice a year we love to get those who are co-labours, called by God to the vision and mission of Oak City church, together for a night of feasting, celebrating and forecasting all God is up to in Blacktown and beyond. SAVE THE DATE - June 1, the Burke's home. Find a baby sitter, record whatever your favourite TV show is. This one is the DNA of who we are.

An incredibly challenging message: ‘What are you kicking up against, and how does God want to lead you through it with him rather than around it?’ Lots of visitors, but also a lot who are sick in our community, and doing the right thing by staying home. Let’s lift them up in prayer!

22.01.2022 Today begins a bunch of Christians and Churches fasting and praying over the city of Blacktown as we lead into Pentecost Sunday next Sunday. Acts 2:1-2 says: 'On the day of Pentecost all the believers were meeting together in one place. Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting'. Pentecost is the day the church was born, and what seperates us from just being a Sunday Club. It takes us from... doing life for God, to life WITH God and his presence with us! That is our prayer with and over Blacktown. If we can specfically pray for you, your family or your business. Please reach out. We are believing for breakthrough and a fresh move of God in our city.

This Sunday we have the joy of hearing from Nathan Marshall, who both works with our movement at Fresh Hope, and sits on our Oak City Church Leadership Team. He is going to be sharing as part of our 'True and Beautiful' Series, what does it look like to hit the Wall? Both Spiritually and Emotionally. One of those idea's many o...f us love to avoid. 14.01.2022 HEYYY! We are a back for a deep one this Sunday. We have all experienced Grief, Loss and pain in our lives. And this week as part of our #TRUEANDBEAUTIFUL series we will be doing a deep dive on how do we process this as part of being emotionally healthy and with Jesus leading us in this. Plenty of Freedom to be had! Come along with funzies for the Kids, Coffee as always, and good times a plenty!

14.01.2022 One of the incredible things about Relationship vs. Religion, is that Jesus invites each and everyone of us to begin to move towards, and follow him. In Jesus time, people would sit with Jesus, eat with Jesus, and ask him all sorts of questions. They didn't yet 'believe' in him or his claims. But he invited them on the journey, and they checked it out for themselves. The same is true us as disciples in 2020. The invitation is not towards more knowledge or religious duty. It'...s towards practicing the words, works and ways of Jesus. Maybe you're simply curious about this Jesus character, and some of the things he said and did. What a great place to start! Maybe you've been 'following' Jesus for some time, but don't know where to start. Simple is best; get to know your neighbour, don't spend all your time scrolling that for that which you can do nothing. Obedience is God's Love language.

And over the last couple of weeks we have launched 21 minutes of prayer for Spiritual Awakening over Blacktown in 2021 and beyond. This is a Facebook Live initiative so as to include as many as possible, without the need to commute, find sitters for the kids, or get out of your PJ's. Just jump online, share any requests you might have, and push into CONTENDING for our City. We host this every Tuesday night from 7:30pm, via the Oak City Online Connect group. Many of us might have been raised with the idea that God is serious, strict, and all together unrelational. But the Trinity in its very essence is playful! God created the very oceans and the moutains. Jesus was wild and confronting. And the Holy Spirit is creative and out of the box. As you take time to enjoy Sabbath Delight, enjoy the playfulness of God this weekend.
