08.02.2022 Restaurant is reopening after the Christmas break tomorrow! Unfortunately due to the current covid outbreaks, we have decided to close the restaurant for eating in! But our delicious meals are still available as room service option

22.01.2022 We take the health of our guests and staff seriously so wit h that our top priority we have closed the restaurant until social distancing has been lifted. Guests are still able to have room service. We have also implemented different strategies to our cleaning routine. We feel this is in the best interest of all people coming to the Oakey Motor Inn. Thank you for your understanding.

12.01.2022 We are thinking of opening our restaurant to the public. Will still only be Monday - Thursday night and bookings will be essential. Let me know what you all think of this idea.

10.01.2022 Meet Kimmi Wicks our kitchen hand and relief housekeeper. Kimmi has only been with us a few months and is settling in well. She is also training to do relief cooking when Heidi is unavailable. Kimmy has previously worked at The Coffee Club.

08.01.2022 On check in yesterday one of our guests told us he nearly got in a fight? He started by saying he was at Adani well that raised my eyebrows. But then he said a guy saw his blue Oakey Motor Inn pen in his pocket. The guy was like that is my pen. That is an Oakey Motor Inn pen. We laughed. Our guest checking in stays with us every week usually of Monday and Thursday night. He had to show this guy his reservation on his phone so he would believe that the pen in his pocket belonged to him and not the pen the other guy had lost.

07.01.2022 At the Oakey Motor Inn we do our best to make all our guests comfortable. On the weekend we had the pleasure of having a lovely couple from Brisbane that we picked up off the bus and dropped down the morning of departure. They sent us these beautiful flowers in appreciation.

06.01.2022 Introducing Heidi Hardwick our cook and head housekeeper. Heidi has been with us almost 2 years starting off casual housekeeper and relieving cook. Now she is cooking Monday to Thursday nights. Our restaurant is open to public on these nights by reservation or group bookings can be arranged for other days/nights.

05.01.2022 The wonderful Oakey CWA Ladies are cleaning out their pantries and any excess goods we can to help those who are living through the devastation in Stanthorpe at... the moment. They need to be specific with items we take as to not bombard them with unnecessary items. They are seeking any donations of personal hygiene goods, nappies, toilet paper, shampoo, paper towel, deodorant, soaps, canned soups, packet soups, canned spaghetti and baked beans; bottled water, UHT milk, noodles, toothbrushes and toothpaste. If you have any of these and would like to donate please let us know and drop to iDance Studios or Oakey Real Estate. They are travelling to Stanthorpe to deliver on Thursday! St Monica’s is also collecting much needed water for these people. You can also drop off water donations to Oakey Electrical. Thanks in advance for your support.

03.01.2022 It is always lovely to get feedback from our guests and I would like to share one we received today below: Dear Anette and Steve Thank you for an enjoyable stay, everything was just lovely, especially not having the dawn burst into the room as we do at home, subsequently we had a very late breakfast!... We drove home through the back roads you suggested and had a wonderful trip, coming out near Boonah and then we motored to Rathdowney then home to Kooralbyn. We will definitely recommend your Motel to anyone who may be visiting Oakey. Thanks again Cheers Susie and Peter

02.01.2022 It is with much sadness that I write this message but tonight we were notified that a regular guest to the motel was killed in a car accident on Friday night. Steve and I are in shock and very sad to think we will not be welcoming him tomorrow night to the motel with our usual chat and a bit of joke. He had great taste in cars. Every night he ordered his dinner with 2 JD's and lunch for next day. We will miss you mate your life was taken way too soon. Love to his family and friends that we have never met but we know they will be missing you too. RIP
