At the time o...f the King’s death, The Princess Elizabeth was 25 years old and on her way to Australia for a royal tour. 01.02.2022 On 3 February we marked a very important milestone in the history of 7th Signal Regiment (Electronic Warfare), commemorating our 75th Anniversary. Over the past... 75 years the Regiment has provided Electronic Warfare, Signals Intelligence and Cyber effects as part of Army, Joint, and Inter-Agency teams, and supported operations on a near continuous basis. This has included service in Singapore, Malaya, Vietnam, Somalia, Bougainville, East Timor, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Afghanistan and Iraq, among others. On this occasion, we also recognised the Regiment’s longstanding and close partnership with the Australian Signals Directorate, and our Unit-to-Unit relationships with our partners in the US, UK, Canada, and New Zealand. These relationships have been critical to the ADF’s success, and make us all stronger. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic we were not able to achieve the large gathering of current and former members of the Regiment which had been planned. Instead, we marked the special occasion with a small parade and cake cutting, and an address from Commander 6th Brigade and Head of Corps RASigs, Brigadier Greg Novak. Big thanks go to our VIP guests Mr Jim Danskin, a former Electronic Warfare Operator and current President of the 7th Signal Regiment Association, and Mr Ian Haycock, a former Regimental Sergeant Major of 7th Signal Regiment, who represented all former members of the Regiment at the parade. As we reflect on the rich history of the unit, we acknowledged the sacrifices made by former members and their families. They will always have a special place in our history, and we build upon their achievements as we work to ensure a bright future.
