It was neck and neck before Jeff finally won the game after 32 ends 25-21. Great bowling from both players. Jeff moves into the final round and will play Steve Imvrios. Tim McLean is waiting in the final for the winner of this next match.

23.01.2022 Hello Fellow Club Members I hope you are all surviving this Lockdown in this very difficult time in our lives. The introduction of the latest COVID Stage 4 Restrictions which are now in force means that OBC can no longer remain open and its facilities cannot be used.... The Committee of Management (COM) has agreed that we must reluctantly close our Club's facilities and advise all members to stay away from the Club. This is a very sad situation but we must all recognize the seriousness of what is now classified as a Disaster and we must do our bit to prevent the spread of this virus. Please be advised that the Club's facilities in entirety are closed until further notice ( but it is expected until at least 14th September). This means you cannot bowl or even enter the Club property unless you have an urgent priority. We request that all members adhere to these new restrictions and make our own contribution to halting the spread of this virus. The COM extends its best wishes to all our members in this difficult time and we hope to all be together at the Club sometime in the future. Good luck and stay well. Steve Carr President / on behalf on the COM.

11.01.2022 THE CLUSTERS - Tim McLean, Cath Jackson, Trevor Lindley & Mitchell Faircloth. "We call ourselves the Oakleigh Clusters, get it 'oakleaf clusters' and our bowls cluster round the jack. Of course the word cluster has gained some rather bad connotations in 2020, the Cedar Meats Cluster, the Rydges Hotel Cluster and we considered changing the name of our rink to something more friendly like The Comrades, but thought people might think we're a bunch of Socialists, so in the end we decided to stick with what we know. We were the Clusters before Covid came along and we'll be the Clusters long after Covid is dead and buried. So the Clusters we stay. We had a nice win on Saturday over Elsternwick, not just our rink but every rink in the seconds, a clean sweep."

11.01.2022 This weeks Thursday comp saw Oakleigh play Clayton at home. Clayton took out the game 52-32. Great effort by our teams.

10.01.2022 Mandatory wearing of face masks at Oakleigh Bowling Club. The advice from Bowls Victoria is that "it would be extremely difficult for anyone to argue that bowls is an exercise that would render you out of breath" so please ensure that all members wear masks on and off the greens at the Club. Please also ensure that you sign in and out on the register in the locker room and thoroughly clean any equipment you use.... Stay safe and well.

10.01.2022 Greetings members With the changes by the Government and Bowls Victoria, we are now allowed 20 bowlers on a green at one time. Please ensure social distancing of 1.5m applies and that there is a maximum of 4 bowlers per rink. ... There is no need to book a spot but be aware if there are already 20 bowlers on the green you will need to come back later. Please remember to sign in and out on the record in the locker room and sanitize the jacks and mats. Please note the bar and club rooms are not able to be accessed. Toilets are available. We will continue to update members on any new developments as they become available.

01.01.2022 Hello Fellow Members As advised earlier after consultation with Bowls Vic and Monash Council the Committee has decided to re-open the Club Green under very strict conditions. It is unfortunate that such strict conditions apply but we are working under advisement from the relevant authorities and these are the only conditions under which we are allowed to return to the Greens.... The Club is open for play as of 8.00am on Saturday 16 May. Unfortunately the Clubhouse is "out of bounds" with the exception of toilets so there will be no access to the bar, kitchen, main dining room or the deck. We apologise for this but it is beyond our control. There is a maximum of 10 bowlers at a time on the green, who must observe "social distance of 1.5M" and you will need to book a playing time with Heather Topp the day before you want to play. We ask you please to observe this condition. Play can only take place on the Top Green and bowls must be East - West. These are the strict guidelines under which you can access the Club and they will posted at various points around the Club. Please observe them. Thank you for patience and consideration.
