23.01.2022 Young tyro Zac Raymond claimed his 100th senior wicket for the club in the 2nd XI Grand Final, spearheading his team to premiership glory with an ice cold spell at the death to hold off a fast finishing Brighton in a heart stopping finale. Zac is another to have progressed through the juniors and made his First XI debut last season before adding a further 8 matches to his tally this year then returning to the twos and being an integral member of their successful finals run. His 100 wickets have come from 76 matches and have cost just 13.14 per wicket, with best bowling of 5/2 including a hat trick. Great Work Zac! #milestone #purpleandgold

22.01.2022 Daniel Junkeer accepts Life Membership of the Oakleigh Cricket Club, becoming just the 63rd Life Member in our 140 year history. Daniel played a total of 284 1st XI games (253 @ Oakleigh), with 386 dismissals (10th in VSDCA history) & 1,600 runs @ 11.55. DJs sparkling career includes three 1st XI premierships & two T20 titles. Daniel also holds the VSDCA record for most dismissals in one innings, 8 (7 catches & 1 stumping) vs Brunswick in 2006/07. ... 19.01.2022 The Stan Sam Blackburn MVP Trophy is awarded to the player judged to have had the greatest impact & intangible match-winning influence, rather than just statistically. This season, its incredibly hard to go past the influence of Michael Splatt. 19.01.2022 A huge shout out to First XI gloveman Miles Fabris who achieved the tremendous milestone of 200 career catches during the Qualifying Final win against Box Hill. Miles has excelled in the role since succeeding Subbies legend Daniel Junkeer behind the sticks, claiming 43 catches in his first full season in the 1st XI, highlighted by five catches in the winning Grand Final side. Miles is a great Oakleigh CC success story having started in the Under 11s and working his way up through the grades, in addition to his 200 catches, he’s also completed 18 neat stumpings. Jack is a promising all-rounder who has been plying his trade in the seniors for a few seasons now. He has compiled 11 half-centuries and one hundred, 104* versus Moorabbin in the 18/19 season.
