But recent research outlined by The Conversation has found children are mimicking real world play in the digital space which means screen play can help substitute for what kids may be missing out on during the pandemic. https://theconversation.com/childs-play-in-the-time-of-covi

17.01.2022 Frustrated with the extended restrictions? You are not alone. We can’t change the restrictions, but we can change the way we view them. Sit together over dinner and decide on one positive from the day. It may be small, but if it’s positive, then it’s worth acknowledging as it helps shift our mindset. Eg; it was a sunny day, I slept in, I played with the dog between classes, I ate during class, this experience is making me stronger and more resilient, challenges will be easy... after this, I am doing a great job etc. Decide on one new positive each day. Write them down and keep a chart if you like, that way you can see all the positives at the end of the week. Create a scrapbook and draw a picture or take a photo to go in the day’s entry. That way you can look back on it and see how amazing you all were, for getting through such a tough time. Celebrate the fact that you can find the positives and don’t forget to have a laugh where you can. Fiona Baudinette - Student Counsellor See more
