23.01.2022 Year 3 and Year 5 parents. Help! We need a volunteer or a group to co-ordinate the stalls. Year 3 is a food stall eg: curries, toasted paninis whatever you like. Year 5 is the trash n treasure. Please have a chat and get a group together and share the load. DM us for further information.

20.01.2022 Wow! What a day. I am sunburnt, sore and maybe a little tipsy. A huge effort by lots of people. Of course, those spending hours setting up and cleaning up (yes, we need more people for tomorrow), sponsors donating thousands of dollars. Gifts from business, marquees, donations, the school community and the wider community supporting the function. thank you!!

19.01.2022 Introducing "The Salty Eggs"! They are a group of students aged between 11-14 of the Sono School of Music and Guitar Gym. They formed a year ago, and while the group has grown to now include a few more instruments. Their inaugural on stage performed was the closing act for the schools end of year concert at the Judith Wright Centre in Fortitude Valley, playing the White Stripes, Seven Nation Army to a large crowd. They received a standing ovation. A number of the students... play multiple instruments and are very dedicated to the band, and their music studies. They are a testament to the great teaching offered at Sono and the Guitar Gym. The prize for Oakleighs got Talent is a lesson at Sono Music or the Guitar Gym sponsored by our wonderful school Mum, Melanie Smith from Aussie Home Loans.

15.01.2022 We couldn't be prouder of ex Oakleigh Student currently studying in year 8 at Hillbrook for her entrepreneurial spirit with a hint of 'giving'. "We decided to make bath bombs because in business studies, we are learning about the business sector. For our assignment we were tasked with creating a business. We got $40 from Westpac and we have to return $42 to Westpac. So we decided to do bath bombs! 10% of profits are going to the R U Ok? foundation which prevents potential suicides from happening just by having a simple conversations ion, and asking R U OK?We hope you like our bath bombs and see you at our stall at the Oakleigh Fair!"

We will be accepting smaller donations from Friday August 16, which can be left outside the container near the school oval. 06.01.2022 EXCITING NEWS!!!! Fair ride armbands are on sale from Schoolshop online! https://schoolshoponline.net.au/default.aspx... Search Oakleigh SS Click on go to EVENTS button and then click on Armbands button. If you have family and friends that dont go to Oakleigh SS and would like to purchase armbands they can do that here as well, they need to do it under an Oakleigh students name and class (Please pass this information on to your friend that wants to buy an armband). Armbands are $27 and you can buy single tickets on the day $6/ticket or 3 for $15. Armbands will not be on sale on the day. Armbands can be collected from 10.00am on Fair day from the same stall as the Raffle tickets. Dont worry a reminder will come out closer to the time.
