24.01.2022 Hi fellow OPCC supporters, As we move into Stage 4 restrictions we just wanted to reach out and provide an update relevant to the coming cricket season. For th...ose who follow the NWMCA page you wouldve noted that the Association is suggesting that an on-time start of the 20/21 season is now doubtful. For the club to be allowed use of the grounds (by local government) we need to be down to stage 2 restrictions that will enable us to train and look to commence playing as well. We recognise and appreciate the challenging times we find ourselves in and rest assured the club is doing its best to keep in touch with our players, members, supporters and sponsors for the upcoming season and beyond. We appreciate the support being shown in the community and look forward to joining you down at the club once the restrictions ease. Take care of each other and Go Oakers! Regards, The Oak Park Cricket Club Committee

23.01.2022 OPCC - Return to training information (including update on 14s & 16s returning to training) Hi all, With amazing weather like this cricket is only just around t...he corner. Please see below the start dates for junior training commencing with the Under 10s and 12s tomorrow night Under 10s & 12s 4/11 from 5pm @ JP Fawkner Under 14s & 16s 10/11 from 5pm @ JP Fawkner The committee and in particular our COVID safe officer Lisa Charlton have done a mountain of work to prepare the club to return to training and eventually playing as well. As such we ask that you be patient with us as we get return in a COVID safe way. Some important items to note include: All attendees (including parents) must sign in and out with our contact tracing QR code (we will assist with showing how this is done) The coaches are aware of the structure of training to ensure we maintain social distancing efforts and regular hygiene breaks as well. It is also important that everyone reads/signs off on some of the documentation required under the return to play initiative. These include: Junior COVID Waiver Form https://tinyurl.com/yya2ky8u Cricket Victoria Player commitment Form https://tinyurl.com/yxw8dysm We also have other documentation available on the policies section of the Oak Park Cricket Club website so please go to https://tinyurl.com/y6ywztc6 Also we’ve had some families enquiry about the printed registration form we have attached this to enable people to register. Feel free to bring it to training or alternatively send it to [email protected]. Thanks and regards, Tim Branagan Junior Co-Ordinator OPCC

15.01.2022 Hi OPCC supporters and players, I hope this finds you well during these challenging times. As both an OPCC supporter and parent I have been buoyed by the teamwo...rk and support that we have seen in the community and look forward to seeing sport come back soon once we get through this next phase of lock-down restrictions. As a club we are still preparing for the upcoming 2020/21 season and will continue to provide the updates as they come to hand. Our volunteers will be well supported and educated on what needs to be done to run the sides each week, and for those with an interest in coaching we will be looking to enroll you in a Level 1 coaching course once it becomes available. 09.01.2022 The EDFL Board of Management has elected to cancel all senior competitions for the 2020 season. This decision applies to all senior mens and womens football competitions, including mens reserves and thirds competitions. Following extensive consultation and consideration, the League has decided against conducting a senior mens and womens competition commencing on July 25. ... In the current circumstances, this decision is in the best interests of the League, its Clubs and the wider EDFL community. The League will now seek to examine the merits of conducting an alternative competition format for senior mens and womens football to be played later this year. The EDFL remains committed to conducting a junior girls and boys competition commencing in July and following todays release of confirmed AFL Victoria Return-To-Play Protocols, the Board is satisfied the 2020 EDFL junior season may safely proceed. The provisional start dates released by the EDFL last week remain in place for all junior football competitions, mens Under 18.5 competitions and open age netball, and the League will now commence work on providing fixtures for the 2020 season, subject to team submissions due in early July. The EDFL is mindful of recent government announcements regarding local COVID-19 hotspots and will continue to work diligently with those Clubs who are impacted by these developments in their local area. We continue to urge all EDFL participants to practice good hygiene and adhere to all government and AFL Victoria guidelines to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 in our community. Given the extraordinary nature and complexity of issues we are currently facing, the EDFL Board and Staff would like to acknowledge the ongoing support and patience we have been afforded by the entire EDFL community. We now look forward to celebrating the EDFLs 90th Anniversary with a fantastic season of junior football and open age netball.

08.01.2022 Due to the uncertainty of season going ahead and concern for the welfare and safety of our participants, the Oak Park Football and Netball Clubs have withdrawn from all competitions. EDFL COVID-19 UPDATE The EDFL Board of Management has this evening confirmed its decision to cancel all senior mens and womens football competitions for the 2020 season. ... This decision applies to all senior mens and womens football competitions, including mens reserves and thirds competitions. The League will now further investigate the implications of the Victorian Governments new COVID-19 restrictions that have been placed onto several local areas within the EDFL region and the significant difficulties they will present in our ability to conduct a junior football and senior netball season. We remind all EDFL Clubs to provide the League office with junior and U18.5 mens team submissions, should the season be able to commence, by COB this Friday, July 3rd. All previous provisional start dates for the 2020 EDFL season will be amended, pending further advice and clarification on the implications for our League of todays Victorian Government announcement regarding COVID-19 restrictions. We again urge all EDFL participants to practice good hygiene and adhere to all government and AFL Victoria guidelines to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 in our community. Given the extraordinary nature and complexity of issues we are currently facing, the EDFL Board and Staff would like to again acknowledge the ongoing support and patience we have been afforded by the entire EDFL community.
