25.01.2022 Premiers Congratulations to our B special 3 mens team (pictured) on their hard fought Premiership. All tied up after 4 sets our lads got up in both of the last 2 sets for a 5 game win. Great job . Unfortunately our B grade 3 mens team had to replace an injured player during the GF and in a close match all night went down by just 3 games, these boys have been on an amazing run for 6 season and this proved to be another great season. Well done lads .

24.01.2022 Dont forget your mask Although we don’t have to wear a mask whilst having a hit, we still need to arrive at the club wearing our masks and popping them back on as we leave the courts to head home again. Oak Park Tennis Club sincerely wants everyone to stay safe.

20.01.2022 Mixed Grand Finals What a great night for Oak Park last night, 2 out of 2 premierships . Our C grade 2 team got off to a shaky start losing the first 2 sets but then got it all together against a very good Glencairn team. A big thank you to Alex Gilpin for stepping up and filling in for the team and playing so very well throughout the night . Our D spec team had an epic battle with Hadfield all tied up after 4 sets it came right down to the last point of the match w...hen we found Oak Park winners by a single game. 19.01.2022 Ladies Finals Congratulations to our C spec 1 team on winning their Grand Final (team photo below). After being in the top 2 of the ladder all season last night they were too strong for their opponents. Well done ladies and thank you to Juliette Warwick for filling in on the night . Our C res 2 team didn’t quite finish their GF before the rain came down putting an end to the night and leaving the result well up in the air. 5 sets completed and 2-5 in the final set, just 1 or 2 more games will decide the match. The teams will be back next week to finish it off. Good luck ladies . Unfortunately our B res 2 ladies, who had a fantastic season, found their Taylor’s Lakes opponent too strong on the night although they gave it their all to the end.

05.01.2022 Hi everybody, this is a special post dedicated to Lynnette Condon, a life member of Oak Park Tennis Club who sadly passed away last week. Lyn was a very popular member of Oak Park for well over 50 years and in that time played high level competition, served on a number of different committees and was still playing twice a week leading up to Covid 19. It is very fitting, that at the time, the only thing that could stop Lyn playing tennis was a world wide pandemic, such was her love for the sport . On behalf of every member at Oak Park, the committee would like to offer their sincere condolences to Lyn’s family and we hope that she will now be forever playing tennis in the sky.

05.01.2022 Oak Park Tennis Club is back in lockdown . We have been advised by Moreland City Council That following the Victorian Government announcement on 30 June 2020, restrictions are to be enacted for suburbs declared COVID-19 Hot Zones from 11.59pm on Wednesday 1 July. As per Government guidance on the DHHS website, community sport training and competition cannot occur within a restricted postcode. If you live in an impacted area you cannot participate in community sport els...ewhere. Therefore as our club is in a COVID-19 Hot Zone our courts will not be open for coaching, competition, hire or social hits until at least 29th July 2020. This is disappointing to us all but we understand that these are steps that must be taking for the safety of all our members and our community. We will make announcements whenever we receive updates, but for now we ask that you all please stay safe.

03.01.2022 re-opening of Oak Park Tennis Club We submitted our Covid-19 safe procedures plan to Moreland Council as they must ensure that we cover all restrictions and safety issues prior to allowing us to re-open the club. At this stage we havent heard back but the moment we do we will be ready to invite our members back to the club. Please understand that many restrictions still apply and social distancing must be adhered to so that we can all stay safe in this unprecedented time. We will update you as soon as we have more news. We are getting closer to getting back out on court .

02.01.2022 Finally some positive news Oak Park Tennis Club will be allowed to re-open again soon, but of course there will be a number of restrictions that we will all need to adhere to. Tennis Vic will update us with everything we need to have in our COVIDSafe Plan, once that is done we will forward that to Moreland Council for approval and the green light to re-open. We’ll update our post as we get closer. When we do re-open only fully financial members will have access with their fobs, so it’s a good time to make sure you have paid your membership.

02.01.2022 re-opening of Oak Park Tennis Club Today we received permission from Moreland Council to re-open our club so members can finally have a hit again.
