Club selection is key on this hole as it plays longer than it looks, hitting to an elevated green with a beautiful back drop of the surrounding mountains. Big hitters can drive far enough to take advantage of the dip in the fairway rolling your ball an extra 40 metres! A hazard creeps across the front of the green forcing a decision to lay up or go for it. Those laying up should leave 80-100 metres to the green to ensure a flatter stance and lie. From the Black championship markers, the layout is 6,467m par 72, and reduces to 5,520m from the mens white tees with the ladies facing a distance of 5,216m. 06.01.2022 Continuing our golf review of Cypress Lakes Golf Resort this week we look at Hole 2, a 391 metre Par 4 from the Championship tees, plan how far the carry is to the fairway. Longer hitters can aim down the right side and shorten this relatively long par 4. A slice to the right will end up in the graveyard vineyard ensuring its your shout back at the clubhouse. Shorter hitters can stay left side on the tee shot. Approach would favour right side of green looking for the local bounce back into the pin and helping to avoid the water hazard left of the green. 05.01.2022 Back again with our Cypress Lakes Golf Resort Hole Review. Today we look at our 4th Hole, a Par 4 measuring 439 metres from the championship tees. This Par 4 is a great hole with water carry off the tee and water hazard across the front half of the green. Stay down the left side at all costs to avoid huge bunkers. Layup short left of the green will leave a pitch and putt for a tough par. Into a strong westerly wind this is a par 5!
