24.01.2022 Covid-19 update. The Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC) and the National Cabinet have announced dental services have been moved back to Level 2 restrictions effective from TODAY. This is a positive and proportionate response based on our community context. Level 2 means we are no longer restricted to emergency services and are able to perform a much wider range of treatment options which is great news for our community. Thank you for your help and patien...ce while we were in Level 3. We are still NOT out of the woods yet with our fight against #covid_19 and therefore still are unable to provide our usual complete range of treatment options. We are still utilising our full covid-19 processes including our unfriendly looking PPE, constant disinfecting, #socialdistancing rules (we may request you wait in your car if our waiting room is full) and encourage patients to attend their appointment alone if possible. In addition, as a team we have decided to offer a small gesture of support to those in our community who are genuinely experiencing financial hardship as a direct result of Covid-19 due to redundancy or being stood down. Oak Tree Dental will cover 10% of your treatment cost until we reach $10,000. This is a small gesture but hope it can reach approximately 500 people in our community who are genuinely affected and help make access to essential dental services easier at this difficult time. Conditions do apply and will be limited to general dental services. #weareinthistogether #bekindballarat #flattenthecurve #stayhome #ballarat #ballaratlife

23.01.2022 We recently celebrated our surgery’s 6th birthday!John and I want to dedicate this post and this beautiful photo to our amazing team for choosing to join us on our journey to improve oral health in our community. The energy, passion and positivity you bring to work is invaluable and is the fuel and heart of our practice. Thank you for the laughing, dancing and memories we have created over the last 6 years and for always doing your best. We are grateful for you every day. #dreamteam #ourteam #ourfavorite #grateful #dis #dismoment #ballarat #ballaratlife

21.01.2022 A shout out to our awesome, resilient girls who always bring a smile to our day, even during a pandemic. Team Oak Tree, yes, laughter boosts the immune system but is this the beginning of insanity? #dis #dismoment #weareinthistogether #insanity #andsoitbegins

21.01.2022 Covid-19 Update We are committed to help prevent the spread of Covid-19. As always, we practice universal precautions and high levels of infection control practices. However in addition to this we have implemented additional protocols to enhance our chance to help stop the spread of Covid-19 in our community. ... We are now temperature checking all staff and patients and have implemented compulsory alcohol hand gel on arrival. All entertainment, magazines and toys in our reception have been removed until further notice and you will notice our staff busily disinfecting high risk spots such as door handles every 30minutes. Patients visiting our surgery will be provided with more information on how we are working to ensure we are screening for Covid-19 so we can keep our staff and patients safe and continue to be able to focus on providing oral health services to our community. We thank you for your patience and understanding as we work together in this tricky situation. #covid #coronavirus #covid_19 #stopthespread #nohandshake See more

18.01.2022 Covid-19 update. We will be limiting our practice to URGENT dental procedures effective immediately. Late last night, Level 3 restrictions have been mandated on dental services by our government. Over the last month we have been carefully balancing the risks and benefits and using our clinical judgement to provide dental services using daily updated methods to best minimise the potential spread of Covid-19.... Level 3 restrictions have been placed due to increased community transmission of Covid-19 and the increased threat to our community. This means that unless you are experiencing an URGENT dental concern (pain, trauma, facial swelling, infection or have a serious dental issue that can’t wait 4-6 months without treatment) we feel you are safer to #stayhome rather than come into our surgery. Our dentists will be able to determine which issues are urgent and which are best deferred. For all our patients who have existing appointments, our reception staff and dentists will contact you all individually to work out when would be the best to come in for your treatment. We thank you for your understanding and support as we continue to strive to make the best decisions to keep our community safe. #stopthespread #flattenthecurve #washyourhands #socialdistancing #covid_19 See more

11.01.2022 Covid update Our team will be continuing to serve our community by remaining open to provide emergency dental services throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. We are trying to do our best to support our medical colleagues, in particular our emergency department and GPs and save precious resources/appointments/beds free from dental causes so they can be reserved to fight Covid-19. During the Covid-19 outbreak we will be opening our surgery 7 days a week (including Sunday) to do what... we can to serve our community. We respectfully ask our community to help us by only attending in a true dental emergency and deferring non urgent care to a later date. Please #stayhome if you are sick, please #washyourhands, please maintain #socialdistance Together we can fight this!!! #flattenthecurve #weareinthistogether #strongertogether #bekindballarat #covid See more

05.01.2022 Fabric washable mask wearing can help protect those around you and limit the spread of covid-19 when used correctly, in addition to maintaining a safe distance and frequently washing your hands. Please visit https://www.who.int//advice-for-/when-and-how-to-use-masks for more information on medical and non medical mask wearing. #staysafe #covid19

05.01.2022 The WHO now recommends that patients experiencing Covid-19 symptoms should avoid taking ibuprofen (nurofen) as there is a hypothesis this could make the effects of the virus worse. While this theory is being tested, we recommend that patients self medicating for dental pain should take paracetamol (Panadol) instead of Nurofen or similar anti-inflammatory medication or contact the surgery or your Gp for advice. If you are on prescription anti-inflammatory medication, please discuss this with your prescribing doctor before making changes. Paracetamol must be taken strictly according to the recommended dose, because too much of it can damage the liver. #covid_19 #covd19 #washyourhands #stopthespread
