25.01.2022 Groundsman saving you a job we all hate to do.

25.01.2022 There are currently more than 180,000 people living in more than 2,300 retirement villages across Australia. With 22 per cent of Australian's expected to be over the age of 65 by 2054, they need comfortable, affordable and supportive retirement living options is ever increasing. The challenge this presents to the retirement village sector is work with the residents - and potential residents - to 'reimagine' retirement. To find solutions that continue to deliver better services, higher standards and innovative ways of creating great communities for people to enjoy their best life in retirement. Here at Oak Tree you are a person, not just a number, we focus on building smaller villages so just that can be done.

25.01.2022 After a bit of afternoon rain I looked out the window to the most darkest coloured rainbow I have seen in a long while.

24.01.2022 Quote of the week.

21.01.2022 When planning your retirement, one of the most important decisions you’ll make involves where to live. Moving to a retirement community can offer advantages when it comes to amenities, recreation, and being able to connect with other like-minded people. However, it’s important to consider what you’ll pay for senior living and how it compares to other options. 21.01.2022 It is certainly no secret that growing a garden can quickly establish a sense of closeness and comradery among its participants. This is especially true for best friends Jeanette and Val who live at Oak Tree Darling Heights. Gardening and friendships go hand-in-hand, so when the village installed a new community garden, Jeanette and Val were the first to get involved. 20.01.2022 Wednesday saw the village celebrate Sue Smiths Birthday. Happiest Birthday Sue, hope you enjoyed your cake.

19.01.2022 It's beginning to look at lot like Christmas at Oak Tree Platz Street. Today residents decorated the community center, working their way to the outside of the village.

18.01.2022 When you live at Oak Tree the community center is like an extension of your home. Over the weekend we saw a resident celebrate her Aunts 80th Birthday.

17.01.2022 It's that time of year again, residents here are getting ready to decorate the center on Monday, it's beginning to look a little like Christmas. It will be a lot like Christmas once they are finished.

16.01.2022 Village manager Sharon is often seen at Fernwood Fitness several days a week This morning class was Daniel Morcombe day so hence everyone dressed in red.

16.01.2022 Quote of the week from us at Platz Street to you

14.01.2022 Good Morning and Happy Wednesday to all. With nearly 100 mls of rain over the past few days, its nice to see the grass getting greener and the plants shooting well.

14.01.2022 To show our residents just how much we think of them, Wednesday morning tea at the end of each month we celebrate with a home made Birthday Cake. This month it’s Monika’s special moment.

13.01.2022 Public transport you say, right at your front door.

12.01.2022 Retirees are increasingly more discerning about what they want and need from their retirement life. Today's retirees are also more tech savvy than previous generations. While many are still reliant on the pension to fund their retirement, others have more disposable income than their parents and grandparents did in retirement, and all are looking for options that suit their individual needs and wants. The mix of retirees is also changing, with single people increasingly represented - the majority of these being single women.

12.01.2022 Come down and meet the team at our Open Day! We will be here from 10am - 2pm. We look forward to seeing you for a tour!

11.01.2022 What a great first day for our Open Days here in our 2 villages on the downs. Great tours, some serious work and some just to brighten up the day. Come and join the team tomorrow at Platz Street Village, and our sister Village Baker Street between 10-2. Have a coffee on us or morning tea in the community center.

10.01.2022 The things you see when you do a trip to Bunnings for work. Close to Halloween so most of the staff dressed up and there were some great costumes, I must say. One of our residents bought a new friend for her garden bed, looks pretty real to me though.

10.01.2022 What a great way to pass some time, come up to the Community Center grab a coffee and read the local paper. Oh what's that Oak Tree are having an open day, Friday 16th and Saturday 17th October.

09.01.2022 Ahhhh, retirement. The very word has most of us dreaming wistfully of a life less hurried, of time spent doing the things that just had to wait during years which were busy with work and family. Perhaps you have been waiting for a holiday abroad or a road trip as a Grey Nomad, more time with family and friends, or completion of that long-desired art or woodwork project. Maybe you want to keep working but want a bit more flexibility in how you go about it. Whatever your vision, retirement is a time for new beginnings. It could be the right time for your very own wise move. Come on down and check out our Platz Street Village in Toowoomba. I Sharon McManus the Village Manager would love to show you and loved ones what we have on offer, to make those new beginnings.

07.01.2022 No more worries about taking out the dreaded Wheelie Bin, or remembering what day it goes out. Here at Oak Tree we take care of that for you.

07.01.2022 This week after morning tea we saw a couple of the residents having a quick game of Kelly Pool. They enjoyed it so much they are going to have a crack on Friday night at Happy Hour. The winner of todays game was Rhonda.

06.01.2022 Busy schedule, needing you hair done for a special occasion. No need to leave the village, the hairdresser will come to you. That's right we have a wonderful hair salon in the community center for you to use.

06.01.2022 Val our oldest resident likes to keep fit by walking her pet Rosie every day. Val is often seen twice a day taking her for a walk through the village.

05.01.2022 With temperatures due to be at peak this weekend, make sure you stay indoors, drink plenty of fluids as so not to dehydrate, as this can be something we all forget to do. If you are luck enough jump into the pool and cool down. Here at Oak Tree we have that luxury as well as a great community center with ducted air conditioning, so why not come up have a game of pool or read a book from the library and relax in the cool.

03.01.2022 We love to have guest speakers in the village to chat with the residents. Wednesday we had the pleasure and company of Sharelle from Community Care.

03.01.2022 when your feeling down and out, just remember this quote!!

01.01.2022 This was my quote of the week, but looks much nicer with the bird.
