25.01.2022 Fact: Bush fires are unpredictable and in dangerous conditions, you may not get an Emergency Alert message in time. It’s important that you stay up to date on conditions in your area and that you have made a bush fire survival plan. Leaving early is your safest option. Improve or make your fire plan at myfireplan.com.au #getreadyweekend

23.01.2022 Our Australian Seasonal Bushfire Outlook: December 2020 February 2021 is out today, and shows that large parts of NSW west of the Great Dividing Range face ab...ove normal fire conditions, as well as grassland areas of the ACT and into north eastern Victoria. Grass and crop fires are the main concern in these locations for the summer months as the growth dries out in the warmer weather. WA has largely missed out on the rainfall in 2020 and conditions are very dry, with parts of the south and south west coasts expecting above normal fire conditions through summer. 23.01.2022 November 12, 2019, was the first of many difficult days we would face as a as a result of the Gospers Mountain fire. While the effects of the fire are still being felt in many ways across the broader community, like then, we are all still working together.

22.01.2022 At 522am yesterday morning we were responded to a reported car fire at Pitt Town. With assistance from the owner and neighbours with a garden hose and a quick response time from the brigade there was no damage to the house.

22.01.2022 Rest In Peace Greg. Thank you for your service. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and brigade members at this sad time.

21.01.2022 Whilst filling in at Windsor fire station today we were sent to a grass fire at McGraths hill that started from an unattended pile burn. With the assistance of ...Oakville Rural Fire Brigade we were able to get this under control quickly and save it from spreading to neighbouring paddocks. If you live on a rural property and are conducting a pile burn you must mow the grass around it, always keep an eye on it and have an adequate water source.

18.01.2022 This afternoon we were responded to a garage alight in Pitt Town, together with Fire and Rescue NSW Station 081 and Wilberforce Rural Fire Brigade. Upon arrival, we established a freezer in the garage had caught fire. CABA operators extinguished the fire and then our crews vented the house to clear it of smoke. Luckily for the owners it was an electrical short in the freezer and it didn’t cause any major damage to their home. This is a timely reminder to check all electrical ...appliances before venturing off this holiday season. Thanks to Wilberforce Rural Fire Brigade and Fire and Rescue NSW Station 081 for their assistance.

17.01.2022 IT’S GET READY WEEKEND but have you included your animals? To keep your animals safe in an emergency, make them a part of your plan. This is a plan for what you... would do for your family, including your animals, in the event of severe storms and floods, bush fires, heat waves and other extreme weather events. What should my plan include for my animals? Where to go and how to get there planning to stay with family or friends is often the most comfortable and convenient option. What to take for your animals prepare a ‘Grab and Go’ bag. How to identify, secure and transport your animals. If you have large animals like horses and livestock, a plan to relocate them early to a safer area. Remember to practice your plan at least once a year. https://www.ses.nsw.gov.au//get-ready-a/get-ready-animals/ #GetReadyAnimals

12.01.2022 Today is St Florian's Day, a very special day for those in the firefighting family. St Florian’s Day is named after the Patron Saint of Firefighters and is trad...itionally the day where we come together to recognise our volunteers and staff who have gone above and beyond showing incredible acts of bravery in protecting the community or delivering the highest level of commitment to the Service that is worthy of special recognition. In all cases, the recipients are nominated by their peers, which makes receiving an award on St Florian’s Day even more significant and special. This year’s recipients demonstrated extreme acts of bravery in the face of horrific conditions experienced during the 2019/2020 Black Summer bush fires. Those receiving among highest of honours will today be presented their awards, followed by several regional events in the coming weeks for those receiving other commendations. 05.01.2022 PLEASE SHARE! Last week King Creek 1 & 9 responded to a grass fire at Lorne. During the operation someone decided to steal our brand new portable pump and 3 x ...suction hoses (reinforced hoses so they don’t collapse under pressure) from a Category 9 tanker. The Cat 9 is a small truck that doesn’t carry much water and as a result depends on the portable pump and these hoses. To the morons who did this, the police have been informed and they know who you are so good luck! (phots show where this equipment should be) See more
