25.01.2022 Seeing SOUND Thank you to Jeremy from 'The Sonic Kitchen' for showing us that you can in fact see sound. Jeremy demonstrated how sound can be seen through combining science and art. The children experimented with slime vibration, sand dancing and played a tone game. What a fun experience learning about the link between sound and movement.

At Oakville Preschool we practice regular safety checks & emergency drills to ensure our team and children feel safe and confident with our procedures.

24.01.2022 Transition Program During the last two weeks we have been providing our children with the opportunity to explore their new classroom for 2021. Our Transition Program enables the children to build upon relationships with their new Educators, ensures a smooth transition into the environment and creates excitement for the new year. We are extremely proud of all the children for displaying enthusiasm towards the upcoming exciting changes.

24.01.2022 ~ A new journey begins ~ We can’t wait to welcome our new families enrolled for 2021. We look forward to working with each family and child to ensure the smoothest transition into our beautiful Centre.

22.01.2022 Koomurri Incursion This incursion was a valuable experience allowing the children to extend upon their knowledge on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture. The children took part in traditional face painting and learnt about symbolic artwork. The children also participated in Indigenous dancing, listened to traditional and contemporary didgeridoo rhythms and also enjoyed listening to dreamtime stories.

22.01.2022 WATER WEEK 2020 This week we celebrated the wonderful year we have had at Oakville Preschool. Water Week is one of our most favourite celebrations of the year. The children were so excited to be splashing around with their friends and Educators.

22.01.2022 Getting in the Spirit of Christmas Meet Buddy our Elf on the shelf. Buddy is bringing the magic and excitement of Christmas to Oakville Preschool Learning Centre. The children love finding him every morning and giggle at the mischief he has gotten himself into. I wonder where we will find him next???

21.01.2022 Live in the moment Look at how proud our prep children are in their new shirts. We can't believe that these children will be transitioning to big School next year, but for now we will embrace every moment with them.

20.01.2022 Our ELF squad have been busy entertaining and creating mischief around Preschool. We are enjoying their company and can't wait to see what adventures Snowflake, Ginger and Buddy will get up to next week

20.01.2022 Big School Orientations Today Miss Rachel participated in our children's school orientation visit at PittTown Public School. The children were all very excited to visit their new school and loved having a familiar face available for extra cuddles if needed. We love our community connections and that we can continue to support our children in their next chapter as they prepare for big school.

20.01.2022 We've got mail We were so excited to hear that our Anzac Care Packages had been received. We were very humbled when letters, photos and special goodies arrived. We have thoroughly enjoyed exploring the photos and researching some of the things the soldiers spoke about. We are very proud of our Australian Defence Forces and thankful for everything they do us.

18.01.2022 Meet our team - on the farm These beauties are a big part of our Oakville family. Each one has been raised by our children, families and team. Our animals are a part of our Humane Therapy Program and are very loved by all! Research has proven that animal therapy can reduce stress and anxiety, improve social interaction and increase motivation and learning. We also find our animals play a big role in helping new children and families settle into our Centre.

17.01.2022 How lucky we are to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard This time of year is always filled with mixed emotions. It is always so hard saying goodbye to the children as they transition off to big School, it is even harder when it is the youngest child in the family and the preschool chapter for those families comes to an end. It is sad for us and for the families, but WHY? Because we truly value every relationship we have with every child and family. We build... such beautiful, strong, and positive relationships and when the time comes for them to move onto a new chapter in their lives we all feel a sense of sadness. Oakville is like one big family. We go on this special journey together, cherishing every moment and working together to create a unique and special haven for our community. Some families have been a part of our Centre for decades. Luckily we are so connected with our community therefore we have the pleasure of keeping in touch with our families and watching the children we once cared for and educated grow up and achieve amazing things! Thank you for entrusting us with your children and for working with us to make Oakville the special place it is

Our School Readiness Program ensures a smooth transition for our Prep students and families as they embark into the Primary School environment. 05.01.2022 KANGAROO PREP ROOM 2021 Welcome to our Prep Room and what a great start to the year for the Kangaroo Children. In our Prep Room we offer a successful School Readiness Program that supports children with their transition to School. We offer pre-reading and writing experiences along with numeracy, science, a second language, physical movement, social and agriculture activities. We implement the Jolly Phonics Literacy Program to foster capable readers and writers. Above ou...r experiences, our Educators network closely with local Primary Schools to ensure our programs are effective and to stay connected with our ex students. It's lovely to see the foundations of beautiful friendships forming already this year.
