25.01.2022 Once youve harvested the main head off of your broccoli, keep an eye out for more little broccoli buds. These mini broccoli are usually located near where a leaf meets the stem of the plant. Since they are so small they are super sweet and tender!

25.01.2022 Sometimes gardens can be a little too generous! Got more leafy greens than you know what to do with? Dont worry you can freeze them! Simply lightly blanch in water, cool in ice and freeze. You can use an ice cube tray for small portions and muffin tray or zip lock back for larger portions. This works for greens that you normally cook like kale, spinach and silverbeet. When youre ready to use, just add them to you cooking dish right at the end and defrost them but dont overcook them

25.01.2022 Amazing looking broccoli crop! Kids love gardening and seems theyre good at it too!

25.01.2022 How do you know when your cabbage is ready to harvest? Keep an eye out for tight forming heads, that feel solid to touch. Also watch for leaves splitting near the core. Harvest as soon as you see splitting leaves or a leaf that is so tight, it will split soon. If you leave the base with some leaves in the ground, you can get a second harvest of mini cabbages!

24.01.2022 To make your leafy greens last in Summer, it’s best to plant them in the shade and pick them regularly. Plant some Oasis seedlings now to go in the draw to win 1 of 2 family farm stays valued at over $5000! More information at www.oasishorticuluture.com.au/PeterRabbit2 #PeterRabbit2

23.01.2022 What do you do when a plant has finished in your garden? Heres our 5 top tips! 1. Harvest what you can - even less desirable parts of the plant can be cooked in a soup or made into stock 2. Cut the plant off at the base or pull it out - either method works great but if you cut the plant off at the base, it wont disturb your soil 3. Compost - compost the whatever isnt edible so that the nutrients can back into your garden. You can do this in a dedicated compost pile or just... leave the plant laying on your garden bed to decompose 4. Mulch - restore some nutrients to your garden with some compost and add some mulch to keep to moisture in 5. Get planting! - plant something new in the space youve made and enjoy another season of home grown veggies! See more

22.01.2022 Lettuce is a great crop to get you started and can grow in full sun or part shade. It will only take 6-8 weeks before the lettuce is ready to harvest! The great thing about lettuce is that you can continuously cut off fresh leaves for your salad and the plant will grow more until it goes to seed. This means you can enjoy fresh home-grown lettuce for a long time after your first harvest! To withstand the Summer heat, try planting non-heading lettuce varieties like Bistro and M...ulticut. Your Summer will be even sweeter if you purchase lettuce or any other seedling from the Oasis range, you get a chance to win 1 of 2 family farm stays valued at over $5000! #PeterRabbit2 For more information visit www.oasishorticulture.com.au/PeterRabbit2
