25.01.2022 Yoga in the East End - Free Introductory Offer This complimentary yoga session is being offered to launch yoga in the East End of Adelaide at Hunab Ku Healing & Meditation Gallery. Potentially I will be teaching yoga here every Tuesday and Thursday if I have enough students. It was once said we practice yoga so that we can sit comfortably in meditation for longer periods. Today yoga has been popularised as a form of exercise to tone and strengthen our muscles.... Drawing upon the ancient practice of Hatha Yoga, as a registered yoga teacher I will guide you to connect with the life force of your body. This pranic flow activation will create pathways for the energy to flow freely, balancing the nervous system, resulting in a clear, calm and tranquil mind. You do not need to be flexible to come to this class. I will guide gentle movements suitable for every body type, where no pain is to gain. My intention is to hold space and give you permission to practice to your own ability and with self-awareness. Tuesday 28th July @ 10.30am - 11.30am Bookings required due to COVID19. [email protected] or phone 0411 754 168 Participants to bring their own yoga equipment. pic by Dane Wetton Unsplash
23.01.2022 The dance of the hands can say more than can be expressed by words. In today's Hunab Ku meditation you will be led in a series of hand mudras to tap into your h...eart space. This has a profound affect in settling the mind and allowing the heart space to blossom. This free meditation starts at 12.45pm and will be guided by Health & Wellness consultant Anne Rodgers. pic by bmeelika-marzzarella-unsplash

18.01.2022 I loved the energy coming from the participants after the session on Mindfulness for a Happy Life. Juliette Jones Malcolm Przibilla thank you for attending.
17.01.2022 Acknowledging Cox Architecture for supporting their team on RUOK day. Set in Adelaide's beautiful Botanic Gardens we began with a relaxation meditation, then a meditation connecting to the environment, then explored nature's architect using the senses. Walking back in silence holding the space I noticed so many colours and shapes previously ignored. #mindfulness #meditation # mindfulnessatwork

14.01.2022 What you can learn from anger...
12.01.2022 I am beginning to see signs of contagious emotions amongst friends and family. Unpredictable restrictions are testing our ability to cope with things we cannot control. This has raised anxiety levels in our community and I can feel, hear and see it as we learn to adapt to new ways of living. If you are struggling this mindfulness-based stress reduction course (MBSR) may help you. Below is a short excerpt from a Soul Talks presentation on what is covered in the course and there is reference to how I managed my anxiety around tinnitus. After seeing a gamut of health professionals I turned to the practice of mindfulness to live with the incessant sound in my head. The 8 week course starts 10am Saturday 5th September at Hunab Ku Healing & Meditation Gallery.

03.01.2022 How are you going? When asked how are you going? My Aunty Jill from Melbourne said, well today I’m having a holiday and tomorrow I might have a rest, then the next day I will take the day off. Whilst said in a flippant way her words expressed an element of frivolity and fun. Frivolity and fun in a lock-down hot-spot of Sunbury!! Wow that hit me. Aunty Jill was making the most of her confined space.... You see the wind, rain and low temperatures were keeping me away from the outdoors. Away from my daily walk along the water at West Lakes that I so much enjoy. I then started to notice that the weather forecast was determining when and if I should walk and more alarmingly how much I would enjoy my walk! Inspired by Aunty Jill, I rugged up Michelin style and took off as it started to rain. The water was swirling eddies and the light on the water reflected the colour of a thousand eyes. The flowers were strikingly bright and birds of paradise reminded me of where I live. Then a rainbow appeared beckoning look at me. The sky was resplendent and I was in awe of nature's beauty. Crowded House writes Everywhere you go, always take the weather with you and this verse speaks to me: Well, there's a small boat made of china It's going nowhere on the mantelpiece Well, do I lie like a lounge-room lizard Or do I sing like a bird released? I say everywhere you go the weather is with you. You choose what you do with it and how you respond. The weather is forever changing just like the transient nature of thoughts and feelings. I use this metaphor often in teaching and remind myself that is why I practice meditation. For the mind to be the sky and to allow all mental and physical experience to emerge and dissolve like the changing weather patterns. This way the mind is balanced and does not get caught up in the havoc of the storm. Thank you Aunty Jill, you inspired me to re-shape my universe and live through the moment, no matter what the weather and my mind keeps forecasting. A friendly reminder my next mindfulness course for stress reduction starts Saturday 5th September. Message me for the details or check out the event noted on this page. Anne
02.01.2022 Once upon a time I was plagued by sleeplessness in the form of tossing and turning like a rotisserie during endless nights. This is one of the best articles I have read on how to have a better sleep, it's all covered here - recommendations for music, podcasts, apps and techniques. I have used some of these audios and of course mindfulness. There is nothing better than having a natural restful sleep devoid of support other than your body and breath. The mind will continue to be busy and no matter how much masking you do, the problem will still be there. If you are serious about your sleep, I recommend coming to my next mindfulness course starting Saturday 5th September. Check out the event details on this facebook page.
02.01.2022 Since I've had a little Believe card sitting on my desk I received two surprises about myself. My miracle card said you have everything it takes to achieve your boldest dreams. So with a false sense of bravado I took that advice and dived in deep, taking my nervous system with me and I have just come up for breath! This little word directed my thought pathways towards my miracles. I left doubt behind and with each small step I boldly edged forward to a new formation of me. All it took was a seed of belief in myself to start the inner fire, then I activated my training to drop the doubt. Life comes in small miracles. Are there surprises for you yet to be discovered? #mindfulnessatwork #mindfulleadership #meditation
