In order to prevent any damage to both, you should: 1. Avoid sugary snacks/drinks between meals and at bedtime. 2. Avoid sticky, chewy or hard sweets, mints and chewing gum. ... 3. 05.01.2022 U P D A T E For our lovely patients : Orthodontists are now on level 3 restrictions and should only perform dental treatments that do not generate aerosols, or where treatment generating aerosols are limited.... All routine examinations and treatments should be deferred. We at Oasis Orthodontics have made the decision to stick very closely to those guidelines to protect our patients, especially the risk groups, and our staff members. For the moment we have postponed seeing and treating all of our lovely patients face to face, and we are thanking them for their understanding. We are asked to look after you for EMERGENCY and URGENT ORTHODONTIC treatment such as: Sharp wire - Please use the comfort wax we provided to assist with any discomfort until you can see us to have the wire cut. Broken bracket - This is not classed as a significant emergency but please contact us for advice on how to manage. Loose or broken removable appliance - Please continue to wear the appliance if possible to minimise dental movements/relapse. If not, please leave out until its safe to have your appliance repaired/remade at a later date. Loose or damaged fixed appliance - If possible seat the appliance back in place and wear as a semi-removable appliance until it is safe to have it re-cemented or repaired at a later date. Alternatively, you can gently remove the appliance completely, if you are unable to do this, please contact us for further advice. Trauma to the face and teeth - Please send photos to us via email or we can arrange a virtual consultation to determine the severity. We are all facing tough times, but we are convinced with our community spirit and loyal patients, we will see each other again. For the meantime, Oasis Orthodontics is proud to introduce virtual appointments and telephone consultations for both our new and existing patients. Dr Anthony and his team will be available during office hours Monday through to Friday to assist you as best we can.
