22.01.2022 If all of the jobs that are created from when a single booking is confirmed, one big voice would be created and it would say: I am tourism. I am hurt at the moment. I am the industry that aims to unite people, unite dreams and share stories and right now I cant do one of them. I represent not just a country or a destination but every local travel company, family-run boutique hotel, small restaurant, local guide, driver, museum guide and a full supply chain of people that b...ring home food to their families. Unlike other industries, I act as a community that gathers families with their dreams, artisans with their work, artists with their art. At the present moment people cannot travel, many countries have closed borders and everything is being done so COVID 19 can be stopped. It is a truly global effort with a price, in search of the greater good and health of mankind. At present our avid travellers are having to put aside not only travel dreams, but many others too and stay home, as are we. It is an understandable reaction to cancel your trip and think of travelling later. What we are asking on behalf of local communities, local businesses, local guides and the smaller supplier that sells their produce, handcrafts and other goods, is that if you are in a position to, dont cancel, but consider to reschedule. The lovely destination you planned to visit will still be there, locals will be waiting with open arms and it will be an amazing holiday as it will have a stronger meaning. You will be keeping one of the worlds most important industries alive. For many of our partners around the world this situation came so quickly that they could not be prepared. They already counted on giving out their services. The car that was going to pick you up, the local guide for your journey, the welcome drink at your hotel - they had already been prepared. Many are in countries that are not as fortunate as us to have a safety net of support from their government available to them. Hence, we kindly ask, if at all possible, please reschedule, because they are still there and they are waiting for you #travelcommunity #globalcomminity
