20.01.2022 Hello people. Exciting times we are living in. Home schoolers might like to research Victory Gardens. I am busy establishing my own Victory Garden in the back yard at the moment. Would you like to make this a community effort? Your surplus produce can support your neighbours, the activity will burn off excess energy, and there's lots of home schooling opportunities it can support. If we've got any teachers here, perhaps you can make suggestions

01.01.2022 DOUBLE BAG ALL YOUR FRUIT SCRAPS PLEASE. So this 'recall' of fruit asks you all to double bag all the fruit you're disposing of that was bought in the last few... days, statewide. You're asking this morning: What about at school? (Give your kids some bags) What about locally bought fruit? (bag scraps to be safe) Can I freeze it and compost it? (yes for 24 hours) Boil it and compost it? (yes for ages) Microwave it? (no not reliable) Feed it to the chooks? (no - bag it) How long for? (Until whatever you have in your house now is gone) What are the host fruits? Apples, apricots, bananas, blackberries, capsicums, cherries, figs, grapefruit, mulberries, nashis, nectarines, oranges, peaches, pears, plums, raspberries, strawberries and tomatoes. Here's the FAQs from Biosecurity Tasmania. http://dpipwe.tas.gov.au//Frequently%20Asked%20Questions%2
