25.01.2022 MARION CHAPMAN WORKSHOP REVIEW We thank Marion for once again giving us a fabulous days painting at her recent workshop. The Northern lights proved a popular subject to paint in our Covid1 safe hall. We all painted yellow, green and blue skies using the wonderfully transparent phthalo blue and lots of water to create dramatic skies. We covered the basics of perspective in tone as well as the importance of the thumbnail to create pleasing compositions in the background, mid-gr...ound and foreground. There was just enough time to include Turner’s colour theory to create warm/cool balanced landscapes. Marion was blown away by all the wonderful thank-yous and compliments at the conclusion of the workshop........... 23.01.2022 Pleinair Report Cook Park Kyeemagh 8/4/21 from Robyn Reid Top of the morning to you following a wild stormy night. Today conditions were perfect if not a tad too hot. Thirteen keen painters/sketchers arrived and spread ourselves the length of Cook Park trying to locate sheltered shade where possible. Thanks to Angela, Debbie, Irene, Jing, Joy, Katherine, Laura, Marlene, Norma, Robyn, Tanner, Trish, Willa for making it a fab day. An Excellent Bonus for two painters were sales to a local walker who being so impressed paid deposits to await framing. Congratulations to the two T’s. Freda was invited to a dinner with Evan Hughes, the Chairman of the Arts and Crafts Committee, to be presented with a 25 year long service award and medal. 05.01.2022 Report on Dario Falzon Workshop by Cheryl McDonnell: The workshop with Dario Falzon was a most enjoyable and informative experience. Dario simplified the approach of painting his landscape by dividing the canvas into a nine sectioned grids and charcoaled in blocks representing the trees on the horizon. He said this was the area around the Hawkesbury where Arthur Streeton drew much of his inspiration which further enhanced our thought process for the subject . Darios no fuss and positive approach made all the participants at ease which resulted in many completed works or some that would need just a few touches. Thank you Dario for sharing the gift of your talent. I hope that you will grace 101 again in the near future.

04.01.2022 Our latest Pleinair Adventure report from Robyn Reid: On a day forecast for 28C we were battered by a strong sea breeze. Everyone scrambled for jumpers & jackets. Despite the battering everyone........... twelve of us, produced a pleasing work. Thanks to Angela, Carol, Jan, Jingzuo, LamLam, Norma, Pasquale, Renate, Robyn, Tanner, Trish, Willa for a fab day with great company. After lunch we progressed to Austinmer Beach proper for warmth and a further session. Join us again in February 2021.

03.01.2022 It was a fabulous days painting at the Tracey Miller Macro flower workshop on Sunday. Tracey was a very "giving" tutor and spent her time assisting artists individually and asking them to constantly appraise their work and solve their problems. All artists had a great painting at the end of the day and were inspired to go home and "keep painting". Thank you Tracey!
