05.01.2022 My dear friends; these are unprecented times. The Coronavirus has caused disruption not only to prople's health; but also to the economy, to social structures, to employment, to schools and universities, to the practising faiths, to how govt functions. My sincere hope is that a vaccine will be found to give ppl immunity. Growing up in India in the 50's and 60's; there were many outbreaks of various multiple communicable diseases..smallpox,chickenpox, measles, whooping cough, ...malaria, dengue fever, diptheria, etc. Beside all these diaeases, ppl also suffered heart attacks, strokes, cancers, diabetes, kidney failure, renal failures, liver and stomach problems, etc. There was also unemployment, financial hardships, alcohol abuse. But; one thing stood us well; and that was our faith. This faith was given to us by our parents and grandparents; was nurtured by our teachers and lecturers, was guided and steered by the priests and clergy of our congregations. Today, I call upon all of you to stick to your faith, inspite of adversity; despite irresponsible governance and laws, despite the uncertainty of the future. Our faith is to believe and trust that Almighty God will look after us....his children. Prayer, is our hope and guiding beacon. Pray together. Stay together. Whatever this virus or our govt does; whatever way our society turns out to be; survivours must know that they were chosen for change, they were chosen bcos they were God's people. God chose Adam and Eve to start humanity; He is not going to give up now; He is only going to do some change-management. New structures will evolve for society to become more compassionate, more humble, more righteous and follow His Ten Commandments. AMEN! HALLELUIA! See more

04.01.2022 Hello Bedeans; Time is dragging. Are many of us going to be left behind. Our members at OBA Melbourne Incorporated; are confident we are going to be on the other side of this bridge. Our Agenda for 2020 has not altered. Even though we have had to put activities on hold because of social distancing and the social gathering rules; our core members still keep in touch with each other via the phone and fb. I am printing our phone meetings. The Bedean Newsletter for Feb and Apri...l will be updated and issued albeit a little bit behind time. So; please bear with me. If there are any stories you would like to share please email them to me. Till we meet again, Adios Amigos, Jeffrey Woods See more

03.01.2022 Hello Bedeans, it has been awhile since i last made a posting. So, here it is. Since Feb 2020 a lot has been happening. I am referring to the Corona virus. Yes; we are all grappling with the changes we are forced to endure; social distancing, panic buying, loss of jobs, a severe downturn in the economy. Most importantly, we might know about someone who has succumbed to the virus, some of us might have been spared this loss. The reality and the truth is, that some of these cha...nges we are experiencing might be the new normal for a long time. The reality is that social distancing has in fact been happening for a long time; ever since globalisation started to make its imprint on the sands of time. Have you noticed or have you been blind to the fact that there are more people living alone in a home than at any time in human history. This isolation may be self-imposed or it may be due to a set of circumstances dictated by changes in society. So, long before Corona virus; society already set certain changes before govt acted. Govts have reacted instead of forcing changes. With technology and 5G; high speed internet and phone communication, society has become more self-isolated. This self-imposed distancing has been a result of modernisation and technology enabling individuals to multi-task, to do things for themselves where before it needed the whole village to come together to achieve. What price is humanity going to pay for this self-isolation? Was a human being ever supposed to live a lonesome life? Why did God create a man and a woman? Why did God create the trillions of other creatures to inhabit this planet and share in the abundance of this planet? Why are sociologists worried about over-population of humans, when there are trillions of other creatures existing on this planet right now? Why are we distracted from enjoying this wonderful life and instead living miserable lives? Are we living a psychological life in our heads rather than an existential life in compatibility with the cosmos? Take care. You can still make a difference to society, to your family and more importantly to your own personal development. See you on the other side of this bridge; see past the bridge. See more
