The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) is reminding the public to be alert to scammers impersonating the ATO demanding iTunes gift cards as a form of tax debt payment. The ATO states that it will never request the payment of a tax debt via gift cards such as iTunes cards. 10.01.2022 *UPDATE thanks to the response from members of the community the culprit has now been located. Thank you all for your assistance. * Oberon police are seeking witnesses or information relating to a local vehicle that has been doing burnouts around town over the last few nights. This vehicle has lost control causing damage to a fence of a business in Albion street. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Oberon police on 63361000.

07.01.2022 Snow has been falling throughout the Oberon Local Government Area. The following roads have been closed due to snow on the road: Abercrombie Road between Black Springs and Little River... Shooters Hill Road All other roads in the LGA are currently open, however motorists are advised to ensure they drive to the conditions they encounter.
