23.01.2022 I will continue to stay open for business until the government locks us down. I will be in my workshop normal business hours for customers who are happy coming in to drop off and pick up. Other contactless options are contact-free pick up and drop off in the Adelaide Metro region, or courier service. I have a DHL account so can easily and safely courier watches. These are crazy times and are forcing innovation and change in the business community, giving you different ways to... continue to support local business. Business owners are reassessing how they operate and how their business will look on the other side of this. . . . #watchmaker #watchmaking #uhrmacher #uhrmacherei #horology #watchrepair #watchrepairs #omega #adelaide #rundlemall #omegaseamaster See more
22.01.2022 Adelaide and Tanunda completely dead. As countries across the world scramble to deal with COVID-19, it is having health, economic, social and psychological effects across the world. Both big and small businesses across Australia are struggling. Its sad to see the rundle mall empty, businesses closed, people unemployed, people unsure what to do, where to go, how to feed the family. I know some watch repairers are lucky enough to have a backlog of repairs but this wont last l...ong. Hope everyone stay safe, gets through this and comes out the other side stronger. I know for me personally having started my business 6 months ago this will have a massive affect on my business but compared to the loss of life people are experiencing this is nothing. If you are a watchmaker and want to talk shop or need someone to talk to, I'm happy to help . . . #watchmaker #watchmaking #uhrmacher #uhrmacherei #horology #watchrepair #watchrepairs #adelaide See more
22.01.2022 Its been two months since my last post, think I just needed a break from the socials. I've been away slowly building a dynasty lol. Here are my new dial colour suggestions for omega. In other news just this month an old watchmaker called it quits and shut his Adelaide business down, he was on the cusp of retiring so don't feel bad. With so many watchmakers in Australia hovering around 65 - 80 don't be surprised if a couple more drop off the perch....... business wise. But in ...all seriousness I hope all my international watchmaking friends are doing good. . . . . #watchmaker #watchmaking #uhrmacher #uhrmacherei #horology #watchrepair #watchrepairs #adelaide #horology #swissmade See more
19.01.2022 Double red rolex submariner came a little worse for wear. Poor fella took a tumble scratched the plexi big time! Bezel popped off and needed to regulate it. Did it for him straight away. All in all good result. . . . .... . #rolex #rolexsubmariner #vintagewatches #vintagerolex #uhrmacher #adelaide #watchrepair #watchrepairs #watchmaker See more
18.01.2022 Customer came in wanting his rolex explorer regulated. Happy to say it's within spec now. All it takes is some careful adjusting of the timing weights. . . . .... #adelaide #uhrmacher #uhrmacherei #horology #watchrepair #rolex #rolexexplorer #watchmaker #watchmaking See more
16.01.2022 So.... I went a little overboard buying tools. Can't wait to get into the refinishing and try out all the different mops and abrasives. . . . #watchmaker #watchmaking #uhrmacher #uhrmacherei #horology #watchrepair #watchrepairs #adelaide #adelaidewatchrepairs #bergeon
14.01.2022 I started OBR Horology in September 2019, in the beginning I thought I would only be getting a couple of days worth of work and would get to go kitesurfing every other day....I was wrong. Three months in I began working 6 days a week and splitting my time between my own workshop and sub-contracting out to 2 other workshops. As time went on I slowly transitioned away from sub-contracting because my own work was building up. 18 months in I've weathered a pandemic, grown my bus...iness, worked like crazy, bought more equipment than you can poke a stick at and moved commercial premises. As a sole trader I now find myself in an interesting scenario where I'm juggling all facets of the business and not having enough time in the day to get it all done. The question is do you go big or do you stay small? Do you hire staff and expand or turn away work? The arguments for both sides are valid, I’m curious as to what people think and your own personal experiences. - Cheers, Oliver
13.01.2022 I just love vintage enicar watches. It's not often I come across a sherpa ultradive watch. It's in great condition, its had a little bit of moisture over its life but that adds to its character. . . . .... . #watchmaker #watchmaking #uhrmacher #uhrmacherei #horology #watchrepair #watchrepairs #adelaidewatchrepairs #adelaide See more
13.01.2022 Every now and then you see something crazy. What someone has tried to do is glue the kif spring in place because one of the arms broke. Unfortunately by glueing this down you lose the idea of shock resistance. Sad to see it done to a ladies Rolex but these things happen sadly. . . . .... #watchmaker #watchmaking #uhrmacher #uhrmacherei #horology #watchrepair #watchrepairs #adelaide #adelaidewatchrepair See more
13.01.2022 This poor 3135 came in some time ago showing some serious signs of wear. New rotor post was needed among other problems. What started off at 170 degrees, losing time and struggling to go, end up at 300 degrees and within superlative chronometer spec. Really happy with the result. For any watch repairs queries feel free to reach out.
12.01.2022 I repaired this Rolex Milgauss recently. Still not sure to this day exactly how to pronounce "Milgauss" Look at the shimmer! The finish on the dial is just amazing. This is prior to final assembly of the hands and case. . . .... . #rolex #rolexwatch #rolexwatches #watchmaker #watchmaking #watchrepair #uhrmacher #uhrmacherei #horology #watchrepairs #adelaide See more
11.01.2022 The very popular Tag Heuer Carrera chronograph in for servicing. This iconic watch was originally released in 1963 to cater to the needs of motorsports pilots and was named after the Carrera Panamericana race. The Carrera was designed by Jack Heuer himself, the great-grandson of Edouard Heuer (founder of the Heuer watch company). Jack Heuer guided the company as CEO for twenty years, from 1962-1982. #tagheuer #horology #luxurywatches #swisswatch #watchmaker #watchrepair #adelaidewatchrepair
09.01.2022 The Omega 601 is up there as one the best manual wind movements of all time in my opinion. It's design is pratical, reliable, fair price and efficient. Invented in the 60's it has clearly stood the test of time. The micro regulator on the balance isn't extravagant but practical (a good sign that the designer didn't get carried away) I could repair these all day. . . . .... #watchmaker #watchmaking #uhrmacher #uhrmacherei #horology #watchrepair #watchrepairs #adelaide #adelaidewatchrepairs #rundlemall #southaustralia #omega See more
08.01.2022 Really happy with how this Rolex datejust came out. Case and band had a hard life. You have to resist the urge to go nuts removing too much metal. 07.01.2022 Omega Speedmaster in for small adjusting. Note this special edition football version with 45 minute halves for the chronograph minute counter. #omega #horology #luxurywatches #swisswatch #watchmaker #watchrepair
04.01.2022 Omega seamaster chronograph caliber 1040 came in a while back. The Omega 1040 is based off the Lemania 1370 and was invented in 1970. Whats special about this is the central min counter. These are a bit clunky but got a good result out of it. . . .... #watchmaker #watchmaking #uhrmacher #uhrmacherei #horology #watchrepair #watchrepairs #adelaide #adelaidewatchrepairs #rundlemall #omega #omegaseamaster See more
02.01.2022 Longines L688.2 in for service. However, this is no normal Valjoux or ETA 7750. The striking difference is Longines change from a cam system to a pillar wheel system; otherwise known as the column wheel or castle wheel. This blue wheel is essentially the heart of the chronograph, controlling the start, stop and reset of the chronograph. The shift from the cam system to the pillar wheel is a more traditional way of constructing a chronograph and also more expensive. #watchrepair #horology #adelaidewatchrepairs #Longines #swissmade #luxurywatches
01.01.2022 I've been a busy little bee, head down working my arse off. This was a massive job. Heaps of rust had to be removed, the two screws had to be taken out of the case back that had been rusted in for years. All in all it came up really good. I'm sure the customer will he stoked. . . . .... #watchmaker #watchmaking #uhrmacher #uhrmacherei #horology #watchrepair #watchrepairs #adelaide #adelaidewatchrepairs See more
