25.01.2022 Some more recent finds from the fields

24.01.2022 Hi Guy's Just a bit of an update for the school holidays so you can make a more informed decision on coming out or not : Unfortunately the creek along the front of the camp ground is very low about 300mm at it's deepest, So if your plan is swimming and kayaking for the kids FORGET IT.There is deeper water further up stream under the house on the hill, The days have been warm with a cool breeze and nights are still cool to cold in the early hours of morning. No rain in site and have had no real rain to speak of since February so campground is dry and dusty. road our is not the best worst part is from long gully (only creek with concrete causeway) located 8k from the campground, bad corrugations continue from long gully for about 4k, Hope this helps Cheers Simon

22.01.2022 Hi Guys Just weather update, We have lost the cool breeze days are hot nights are warm, you are all still welcome to come on out just be aware it's hot this time of year and the campground is very dry Cheers Simon

21.01.2022 For those campers needing ice this Easter week end, Russell from Planet Earth Adventures in Mt Surprise will be bringing out 30 bags of block ice on Saturday morning at 10:00 you can reserve your bag at the campground office. Russell's campground in mt Surprise is another small local business offering powered and un powered sites, clean amenities, evening meals (his Barra / chips and salad is legendary) Tyre repairs, LPG gas refills, small grocery lines, Barista Coffee and Cafe meals & burgers. this is such a grate little place to stay for the weary traveler you will find yourself booking in for another night. Cheers Simon

14.01.2022 5 Painted rocks have been found around the campground 2 have made their way to Mackay to be re hidden and these 3 will will find new hiding places around the camp.

13.01.2022 Admin Update :As part of my Covid safe plan for the campground, If you are planning on camping over the June/July school Holidays you will now need to book so that I can keep an eye on the number of people at the campground, As there is no one to man this computer I ask that you do not leave booking names and requests on this facebook page, you will need to phone the campground on 40623001 and get a booking number. Cheers Simon

12.01.2022 Hi Guys As it has been awhile since I last posted and I would like to thank the campers and fossickers that have supported the the campground since reopening, I hope you all enjoyed yourselves and that you and your families have remained safe and healthy. On the admin side you no longer need to ring and make a booking just come on out. The creek is still there but only just we had our first rain since February last night a whole 7mm hoping the creek will hold out until the September school holidays. I will post some more photos of recent finds shortly Cheers Simon
