To aid in promoting the recognition of the Taiwan passport abroad and to ensure Taiwanese citizens are afforded the rights and benefits they are entitled to, the design will be adjusted as below: The color and much of the structure of the cover will remain the same. The word Taiwan has been enlarged and is located near the word passport and the way the official name of our country is represented has been adjusted slightly, circling our national emblem. We will contact the International Air Transport Association, other national governments, airport and port customs and immigration officials and airlines to inform them of the changes, as well as sending samples. If you hold the current version, it will remain valid until it expires, however you can apply for the new version after it is released in January of next year.
