20.01.2022 About 7,000 cubic metres of sand the equivalent of more than 250 semi-trailer loads will replenish sand levels at two Bellarine beaches. The sand will be ta...ken from coastal sites where an excess of sand has built up, and placed onto shoreline at Taylor Reserve and Wrathall Reserve. The beach renourishments will address the effects of coastal erosion, by developing foreshore resilience to storms and rising sea levels. Access to these beaches will be restricted during the works, which are scheduled to start later this month and take place over two weeks. More details about this project are available here: https://www.marineandcoasts.vic.gov.au//bellarine-renouris

19.01.2022 Another rounds of sand renourishment works will be happening in Apollo Bay to prepare the beach and foreshore for construction of new permanent coastal infrastr...ucture early next year. Beginning next week, up to 10,000 cubic metres of sand will be relocated from Wild dog Creek and Point Bunbury to the foreshore between Murray and Milford streets. Works should be completed prior to the school holidays in December. Parks Victoria, Birdlife Australia and local Hooded Plover volunteers have been consulted and there will be spotters on site during the works.
