25.01.2022 Good evening Ocean Close Residents Thankyou to everyone that participated in applying the neighborhood watch signage to your properties. Today was bin collection day and Naturalist Ave looked ‘colorful’ with all the bin stickers applied, looking from our entry point down, the bins (like soldiers) lined up in a splendid display!! I loved the one on the lamp pole at our Entry Statement great idea and I can guess which creative neighbor put it there, Thankyou
25.01.2022 Here's another little hint at some of the vehicles that will be placed progressively into the new Bunbury Geographe Motor Museum! These ones belong to a privat...e collector. There are some great local stories behind these! The group is aiming to have the Museum, which will be housed in the old South's building, open around late November. Thank you to Tom Dillon for sharing with us! https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1535877623252389&id=158463297660502

Hopefully early in the new year we will have a positive outcome from our friendly Labour member Mr. Don Punch MLA, stay tuned neighbors Happy New Year! Ps this is a rewrite as the first post I think I may have accidentally deleted sorry, if you have liked or commented feel free to do so again!
23.01.2022 Ocean Close Residents Update: Response to the Ombudsman outcome received today. Failing a second investigation that I have requested below onward and upward we go to the Federal level!!
23.01.2022 Good morning Ocean Close Residents today I spoke with Don Punchs Office and after negotiations with council and staff at COB they are not shifting.. Our Entry Statement needs to be contained within private land to avoid public liability and ongoing costs to rate payers; COB state that they are correct in law so will not shift at all thus, we need Barbara or Jim to agree by signing to have the wall encroach on their private land at the entry point to our estate for our Development Application to be approved. I have written a letter to Jim and Barbara and included a Development Approval Form an illustrated graphic of the design/lettering and measurements of the wall in the hope he or she or both agree. Thankyou
22.01.2022 Merry Christmas Ocean Close Residents I am still waiting on the final response from the new investment owner of the property at our Entry Point. I am hoping to have some good news from him early in the New Year, thanks once again for all your patience god bless
22.01.2022 Good afternoon Ocean Close Residents I have submitted a report to the ACCC with all attachments regarding our case. SAT are unable to deal with it as it falls under Federal Australian Consumer Law but the Commissioner of Fair Trading may make an order for SAT to be able to in the future once it has been investigated. Thankyou
21.01.2022 What a beautiful sight. Remembrance Day has been honoured at the Sydney Opera House with poppies lighting up the sails at dawn. Outdoor services of up to 100 people are permitted today under NSW restrictions.

18.01.2022 Good afternoon Ocean Close Residents, this SAT letter has been emailed along with the Ocean Close file attached to our local Member of Parliament Mr Don Punch MLA on Friday 14th December. I will hold off on the SAT hearing application until early in the New Year pending the outcome of his negotiations which Ive been told by end of this week. Thankyou
17.01.2022 Good evening Ocean Close Residents this email was sent tonight with an attached letter to the Commissioner of Fair Trading Mr David Hillyard requesting an order to enforce compliance of a prescribed Code of Practise under the relevant Section of Australian Consumer Law that the removal of our Entry Statement falls under. The purpose of this letter is to have it heard by SAT and/or demand City of Bunbury Planners to sign our Building Application rather than a private land owner. This request is in conjunction with the complaint sent to WA Ombudsman, thankyou
17.01.2022 Good Morning Ocean Close Residents this morning the works have begun!! A big Thank you to Squigys Lawns & Maintenance for prepping the area for our Ocean Close Entry Statement. They have been busy clearing the space, pressure cleaning the old wall and to finish up with quality mulch. All ready now for the Graphics to come. Wishing everyone a lovely 2020 Australia Day long Weekend and please drive safely

16.01.2022 Good morning Ocean Close Residents I have been in touch with the new owner of the property at our Entry point and we are still in negotiations with regards to the public liability insurance and maintenance of the new wall and lettering. The owner at this point would prefer to reinstate the lettering on the existing diamond shaped wall as it would be easier for the liability reasons. I did inform him that we would prefer option 2 being a new low rise limestone wall and lettering thus the negotiations are still in progress and pending an amicable agreement. Thankyou all for your patience
15.01.2022 Good afternoon Ocean Close Residents here are the proofs of the signage graphics that have been revised by Brad Myles ON2IT GRAPHICS for our Ocean Close Estate Entry Statement. I have authorized the bottom graphic design as it is now a smaller area and with the bolder, darker colouring; thus will be more striking and more visible from the road. I hope you are all as excited as I am .. I think it looks fantastic and will make our Ocean Close Estate finally Stand Out once again as it deserves too....Thankyou all once again for your patience
15.01.2022 Good Afternoon Ocean Close Residents. I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and New Years. I am very pleased to announce that Ron Taite the new owner of the property at our Entry has given his consent to reinstate our Ocean Close Estate signage onto his existing Diamond Shaped Retaining Wall. ... This is the location where the original signage was placed by the Developer before we purchased our blocks. Brad Myles the graphic artist from ON2IT Graphics just has to remeasure the wall and a slight redesign (wording will need to be stacked) for it to be visible from the road and centered onto the wall. We are expecting to see this signage up by next month. Thankyou very much Ron for helping us short cut the SAT process
14.01.2022 Full steam ahead for Bunbury, this fabulous good news story is focused on helping our economy. Further, Bunburys new Motor Museum is due to open as soon as November ... Please spread the word

13.01.2022 CAN YOU HELP THIS SWEET BOY LEAVE THE POUND?! This handsome young man has found himself in the pound in need of a foster or foster with a view to adopt home, a...nd a name. Wed love to see him out and into a home soon as he does have some sores on his back that need looking at (the rescue will cover vet costs while he is in foster care). He hasnt been tested with children or cats, but we have seen him with other dogs. He can be a little intense to start with, but its just a bit of excitement to see someone to play with, so he could go to a home with another doggy pal, pending meet and greet. If you would like to help this gorgeous boy into a home so he can get the TLC he needs, and will be committed to continuing his socialisation, please email [email protected] today to apply.
13.01.2022 Hello Facebookers. Remember me? My name is Rusty is I'm about 3 years old. I look a bit sad because honestly I feel a bit flat. Life has been a downer so far. W...hen I was a puppy I was promised the world. People played with me and gave me lots of attention. Then I grew up and developed these rugged good looks, but no one wanted to play with me so I kept escaping and ended up in a Pound. Then life got promising again - I was sent to the Dogs' Refuge Home. At first there were new volunteers who walked me every day, gave me treats and told me I was a good boy. I got a new home and things looked like they were going to be okay at last. But sadly, when I got home I went into the backyard that made me stressed and anxious. So I started to escape again (and again). I just wanted to find some humans to spend time with. I did have a little Staffy friend and she was okay, but it's not the same. At night I was chained up so I couldn't run away. Honestly, things had really turned to shite by then. I have to say I did get walked everyday and loved that time with my owners. I was very energetic and tried to get their attention. But when we got home I went back in the yard and they went inside. After my first post there was a lot of interest. The vollies said the phone ran off the hook with people who felt sorry for and wanted to give me a home but I just wasn't right for them. Then I got lucky ... but not for long because it didn't work out. I wasn't comfortable and well things went a bit pear shape! So please humans I am hoping you can find the right someone to love me this time. Someone who is kind and patient and will train me and allow me to be inside with you. I don't want to spend all my time alone so please don't ask to meet me if you think dogs belong in the backyard. I'd rather stay here! I need time to warm up and trust you because my heart has been broken before. I need time to bond and feel safe. Don't rush me or have high expectations - I'm going to be a long walk along the road less travelled - not a sprint around the block. I don't want to be in a home with children because I'm not going to be a that loving, playful pooch and they might not understand. I crave a calm, quiet home where I can get lots of attention to rebuild my faith in humankind and my mojo. I would prefer to be the only dog and I'm no good with cats. Let's face it - I need a reboot - can you help give me another chance at a happy ever after? #rescueisthebest #giveadogahome #rescuedogs

12.01.2022 Good afternoon Ocean Close Residents the Property at our entry has been sold and we are in negotiations with the new owners to have our Entry Statement on their private land they have the file and are currently reviewing it with Jason Gard. Thankyou
12.01.2022 Happy Easter Ocean Close Residents the WA Ombudsmans office rang me as they needed a copy of our SAT response letter for the purposes of establishing if SAT can help us. Basically if SAT can hear our case the Ombudsman can not help so as it stands at this point SAT can not even accept my application. Also Thankyou to one of our neighbors who rang me to thank me for the work to date and that he is prepared to donate a further $2000 towards our Entry Statement I advised him to ring C.O.B and discuss his wishes with them. Thankyou
12.01.2022 Good afternoon Ocean Close Residents I have received a reply from ACCC unfortunately its not their jurisdiction so Im in the process of sending our case to our State Ombudsman as we are unable to negotiate with COB any further. I am also in the process of writing a letter to the WA Commissioner of Fair Trading Mr David Hillyard about our case. I have discovered a precedent case being Mount Nasura (a suburb within the City of Armadale in Perth) that had a similar thing happen and the residents ended up being successful and had the suburb reinstated. This suburb has similar demographics as our Ocean Close 2.8km2 so I will mention this case in my correspondence, thankyou

07.01.2022 Hi Ocean Close Residents, I received this confusing email from Landgate... we all know this was Glen Padden for many years can anyone shed some light on what to do about finding the records?
06.01.2022 Good evening Ocean Close Residents I have posted my response below to the Ombudsmans email I received yesterday. Instead of finding ways to reinstate the Entry Statement I feel they are finding ways to justify not reinstating it, one point was made that there is no evidence of COB taking down our signage. I find this unacceptable and thus I will be taking our case further after seeking legal advice, Thankyou
06.01.2022 Good evening Ocean Close Residents our Entry Statement Case has now been forwarded to the Commissioner of Fair Trading as per email response attached. Thankyou

04.01.2022 Good evening Ocean Close Residents, an email outlining our case and all attachments were sent off to both COB and the State Administrative Tribunal yesterday. I have the formal application to fill in and send off along with the fee which is $608.00 being a class 1 issue (small). I will need to use some of our funds raised for the wall to pay this SAT fee, I hope that this is ok with everyone, please message me any concerns, thankyou

02.01.2022 Good afternoon Ocean Close Residents the resident was all for having the Entry Statement on his land until his Realestate agent gave him incorrect information about not being able to advertise it as Ocean Close because Ocean Close is not a suburb and further that it will devalue his property!! I have spoken to 3 experienced agents who have said absolutely not it will increase the value of all the properties and the agents are all for the Entry Statement and think its a great... idea!! They are writing to him with some facts about estates not being the suburb but rather an estate within the suburb Ocean Close Estate Usher. I will also submit to SAT on Monday in the hope of turning COB decision to have Ocean Close Entry Statement on their road verge. If Jim or Barbara change their mind in the meantime I will discontinue the SAT proceedings.. thankyou See more
02.01.2022 The fit out of the new Motor Museum has started, with a number of local businesses generously helping out with the preparation works. The Museum is an initiativ...e driven by locals and its great to see such incredible community spirit which has helped us get this project up and running thank you! - Piacentini & Son provided machinery and a work crew to strip out the old carpets and ceiling and operate the grinding machines over some weeks to remove the carpet glue from the concrete floor. - West Coast Waste provided skip bins, delivery and removal - Bunbury Machinery provided grinding machines - Trade Hire in Busselton provided grinding machines - Coates Hire in Bunbury also provided grinding machines - Bunbury Harvey Regional Council waived tip fees at Stanley Road Waste Facility - Rangers at the City of Bunbury allocated parking bays for equipment - Barry Allan Electrical Services provided a large generator to power the grinding machines. The building is now ready for fit out and the builders are about to start work, watch this space!
