25.01.2022 Today's feature coral is our 'Blood red chalice' I collected it from flying foam passage Dampier archipelago at a depth of 6 meters in 2005. It was often found growing on the vertical faces of rock, not requiring a lot of direct light. It always shows very strong colours, irrespective of nutrient or lighting levels. A very versatile coral you can put it atop of your display or use it to fill out the low light and shaded areas of your reef tank. Often growing faster and look...ing better in less than ideal water parameters. ULNS tank it will not far as well unless well fed and amino supplements are used. https://www.oceanarium.com.au/item.toy?iid=574820

22.01.2022 Freight seems to be improving, aside from a few delays from a thunder storm this week. The next small group of WYSIWYG specials is up and finally some Yuma's. All being well there will be new yuma for a few weeks till the usual Xmas freight rush starts to cause reliability issues. https://oceanarium.com.au/viewcat.toy?cid=1393579

22.01.2022 https://www.jcu.edu.au//bleaching-affects-aquarium-corals,

21.01.2022 Shipping normal to major centers, we are now restricting shipping to certain locations like Canberra where overnight freight is less reliable and there are sub 0 temps. We will assess each order before returning the summary for payment, based on our previous experiences. 'Other' capital cities freight has been very reliable.

20.01.2022 Last chance to grab some of our massive yuma's, selection up now to order including one of our famous golden ones. https://oceanarium.com.au/viewcat.toy?cid=1393579 This will be the last chance for 2020 to order from Oceanarium. Next deliveries are for Tuesday 1st and Wednesday 2nd December. The freight reliability will be effected from all the Xmas online deliveries and holidays for the next two months so we shut down for this period every year. See you in a COVID free 2021 (hopefully).

19.01.2022 Today's feature coral is our 'Purple wrinkle coral' Coscinaraea columna. It forms thick robust plates when given time to grow out. A great beginner aquarium coral keeping its health and colour under a wide range of water parameters and nutrient levels. This one would fall some ware in the middle between SPS and LPS classifications making it a viable option for most aquariums. https://www.oceanarium.com.au/item.toy?iid=530596

18.01.2022 Got some frag rocks.... Now to get busy cutting coral.

17.01.2022 Cut up a few new Xenia clones yesterday. A lot of people consider it a weed, but it is a great coral in that it is often the first coral beginners have great s...uccess with. Seeing a coral thriving in a home aquarium, can inspire rather than starting out with some of the difficult corals that fare less well in less than perfect conditions. Xenia have no mouth or stomach, so adsorb the nutrients and elements directly from the water column. It can be kept in a refuge style tank to aid in nutrient removal much like an algae. #coralpropagation #propagation #nutrientremoval #xenia See more

15.01.2022 We have been getting a lot of messages from our customers as to our open date. Originally we were planning on a open this week, however there is some concern with freight reliability due to COVID lock down in Victoria and we have just been told our power will be cut on the following shipping day for the whole day. We have decided to wait two more weeks. By then we should be getting into the goldylocks weather for shipping, so any delayed shipments should still arrive in great health.

14.01.2022 FB specials are up follow the link for availability and pricing. As usual anything left over from last week has been discounted. If you are not familiar with our sizing the round discs are 50c size. https://oceanarium.com.au/viewcat.toy?cid=1393579

14.01.2022 I would say the reef will never be the same again, changed forever in the mix of species the more hardy types will dominate between each climate related event.

14.01.2022 I was sorting some of the trays today and found these 3 big yuma's #1 is a monster. hard to get the colour right in a picture all are the same genetic. Large bounce like dull orange vescules with green base. Follow the link for availability and price. https://www.oceanarium.com.au/viewcat.toy?cid=1393579

12.01.2022 On special from today 'Purple Wrinkle Corals'$18 each for fully encrusted rocks. A interesting species that grows plate formations much like Montipora. It lies some ware between an sps or LPS coral, easy to care for and keeps its colour under a wide range of lighting and water parameters. An ideal beginner coral. https://oceanarium.com.au/item.toy?iid=530596

11.01.2022 We are now closed for the reliability of timely overnight deliveries, due to the Xmas parcel rush and new years holiday season. It was a short sharp two months trading the post winter sales period for us this year, due impacts of COVID on the freight reliability. There is plenty of stock left over so we will have some great specials for you all in the new year, have a great Xmas.

10.01.2022 Some great looking and size Magma chalice available at the moment... Not frags 'small cultured corals'. https://oceanarium.com.au/item.toy?iid=585928 Oceanarium proudly operates independent of wild collections, all our corals are many generations from the original colony once removed from a wild reef. It's been a topsy-turvy year with the COVID effecting everyone. We had a big start to the year with everyone in lock down ordering online, it was a busy start for us. Thank you for your support then, the latter half of the year with Melbourne the air-freighter hub in lock down we had to stop sales. Back to almost normal now, but soon the Xmas mail again effects the reliability of timely overnight deliveries. I expect we will only have only 2 more shipping days before we close for Xmas break.

06.01.2022 Friday specials are up! Yet another two Gold yuma's for anyone quick enough, they never last to long. AS usual anything left over from last week is reduced to sell, some bargain blue and green yuma's for under $100 there. https://oceanarium.com.au/viewcat.toy?cid=1393579

06.01.2022 Friday specials are up, some super cheap markdowns from previous picks and a couple more of those hot to trot Gold yuma's. https://oceanarium.com.au/viewcat.toy?cid=1393579

06.01.2022 Face book specials are listed early this week. Enjoy https://oceanarium.com.au/viewcat.toy?cid=1393579

06.01.2022 Listing our first small group of specials today. https://oceanarium.com.au/viewcat.toy?cid=1393579 We been a bit quiet since we opened after our winter shut down, freight has not been as reliable as we would have liked. Some shipments have taken an extra day, luckily it is the goldylocks time for shipping weather so this shouldn't be a problem. Now Melbourne is opening up we expect freight to improve and have some trial shipments heading to VIC this week. All being well we will open up to VIC for everyone next week.

03.01.2022 We are now closed for the coldest nights of the year, we expect to open late August when the temperatures are warm enough to safely overnight ship corals.

01.01.2022 Plenty of big healthy frags (or should I say small cultured corals) of our purple table top acro in stock at the moment. The one featured on our page banner, awesome coral that thrives in most tanks. https://oceanarium.com.au/item.toy?iid=654470

01.01.2022 Here are this weeks Yuma's, be quick they didn't last for very long last week. https://oceanarium.com.au/viewcat.toy?cid=1393579
