25.01.2022 Are you out enjoying the water this summer? Make the most of the warm weather by getting to a pool, the river, a beach or if all else fails, a bathtub and enjoy the water together! Children benefit greatly from consistency and regular routine - this also applies to swimming! Keeping your little ones connected to the water will help maintain stamina, fitness and lung capacity whilst you enjoy honing the skills you have learnt in class. ... Avoid excessive use of flotation devices and please remember that letting your child have some exploration and play in shallow water should be enjoyed at the end of your swimming session. Keeping in mind these principles will help you and your little one streamline into Term 1!

25.01.2022 Only 4 weeks left of term! We can't believe how fast this term is flying by, remember to really focus on your teachers explanations of techniques so you can continue practising them with your bub over the summer holidays.

24.01.2022 Some wonderful news shared by much loved Success Teacher Kaila, who cant wait to see you all back in the water!

24.01.2022 Parents, remember to praise the action. You have probably heard your teacher repeat this phrase in the water many times, but what does it really mean? While our children are learning, we want to give them lots of praise when they complete a skill or behaviour that is positive. Praising the action directly will help the child to learn which actions to repeat and master. ... So when your baby does something FANTASTIC confirm for them what that action is "Good Reaching." - "Beautiful breath." - "WOW strong pulling arms!" and a little kiss is always a nice touch.

24.01.2022 Off to a flying start! Its been so wonderful to see the joy and hear laughter in the pool again.

23.01.2022 Whats on my head? Goggles can be a little tricky, but patience is the key! Parents try getting goggles on at home during play time - this can be a fun and easy way to transition your baby into goggles! When coming to swimming, put their goggles on their head in the change rooms if receptive, so that it's easy to quickly slide the goggles down over eyes when needed.

23.01.2022 Much loved teacher Emerald is missing all her families and shares some bath play her daughter Melati has been doing to keep her connection to the water. How have you been keeping your little ones connected to the water?

22.01.2022 Jump for Joy! Some of the COVID restrictions have eased, meaning spectators are welcome at all venues. Please continue to socially distance where possible and wear your masks before and after your classes. ... Spectators must wear masks at all times poolside. See more

16.01.2022 What are you looking at? Our children are naturally curious, as teachers we try and use that to our advantage. We use many different tools throughout the class such as balls, mirrors and sinking toys to ignite that curiosity and make learning to swim a fun and engaging experience. #curiouskids #ignitecuriosity #playislearning

15.01.2022 Using the mat in the water is fun and colourful, it also allows us to challenge bubs balance and coordination. When playing around water we can often jump or fall in and become disorientated, the mat helps us to emulate this scenario and teach bubs to swim to safety when they have entered the water from different angles or even backwards!

14.01.2022 Kids are born to love the water! We are just here to nurture that love of water into a passion for swimming.

14.01.2022 5 reasons why you should swim with Waterbabies! 1. We have over 29 years of experience in infant aquatics. 2. All our teachers receive ongoing training every year, much higher then the industry standard. ... 3. Small class sizes and only one class per pool, meaning more personal one on one time with your teacher in a calm and focused environment. 4. Our philosophy is Play is learning and learning is play. Through songs and games your child will learn to swim with so much fun and joy! 5. Build a strong bond of trust between you and your baby while they surprise you with just how quickly they grow and learn.

13.01.2022 Katie being her playful self and entertaining us all.

13.01.2022 I wonder what these littlies are doing now? A blast from the past, Feb 2017.

12.01.2022 It is with great sadness we inform you that in line with recent government health advice and concern for the health & wellbeing of our staff & swimming families, we have suspended all swimming classes indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. These are strange times to be in, we have all been affected in many ways and face more uncertainty ahead, so please endure with the foundation of this program - Love & Connection. This can be a time to connect more deeply with yourself,... your family and your community. We are all in this together and look forward to reconnecting with all our swimming families in the near future. The Oceanic Waterbabies Team

04.01.2022 LOVE is a squishy moment with your mum.

03.01.2022 25 years ago, I sat on the kids swing set in my backward and "cut a deal" with Pauline for a casual office position to help with a fast growing Oceanic Waterbabies. The deal maker was that Pauline could bring her tiny 3mth old daughter to work with her whenever she wanted to. I had a dream to help families find the love and joy of teaching their babies to swim and Pauline has been a guiding voice and incredible support for over 25 years. We were a small team but we had a... BIG heart. The team has grown and changed over the years, all wonderful people who have brought their special qualities to Waterbabies but today is all about Pauline. It is with huge heartfelt thanks that Bob and I acknowledge to our Waterbabies community the incredible depth of loyalty, efficiency, tenacity, creativity, trust and love that is only a part of what makes up this wonderful woman. To make it even more special, Pauline and husband Pauls beautiful daughter Tish is now our daughter-in-law and we share together the joy of another generation of family, a very cute Grandson Orson. And..the heart of Oceanic Waterbabies gets bigger and bigger. Pauline, WE LOVE YOU & THANK YOU. Kelly and Bob

02.01.2022 We all know Tummy Time is an essential part of bubs development, so add a little song, a splash or too and movement to enhance the experience. A gorgeous photo.
