10.01.2022 New research on the use of Head Halti's I quite often get asked about the use of Halti's for training a loose lead walk so thought I would share the below, which is a recent in-depth study on the use of the head halti. I have been looking for some data like this for some time, so that I can show factual information, so a bit excited to share this. As some of you know I have never been a fan of these as a solution to training a loose lead walk, mainly because they are a band... aid approach to training and they were never designed for long term use. But also, what concerns me the most is that any piece of equipment that changes a dog’s behaviour without prior training you have to question because its not normal. And to often I see dogs wearing head haltis walking along with their head and tail down, head not moving, there is increased panting and the dog pawing at their face to get the halti off, which are signs of stress and not your typical signs of a relaxed dog, going out for their walk, which I find so sad. The good news is through years of scientific research and study by many force free trainers, there are more humane stress-free ways available to train a loose lead walk, that engage your dog and build a lifelong bond with you as their owner, so why wouldn't you hey If you have any further questions on this, please feel free to get in touch or PM me anytime as would be more than happy to answer any questions you have. 07.01.2022 Final Baby Puppy Training session with Tilly From day one this little pup has been the most chilled, independent, happy little pup that loved her training. Her mumma made sure she had safe exposure to many different places, people and other dogs from a young age and you can see the positive impact it has made on her overall ability to cope in our world. We set up her own safe zone as soon as she arrived and now Tilly uses this on a daily basis when she wants to rest, play with a toy or sleep. Creating a safe zone for your new puppy is so important as it has so many benefit so reach out if you have any questions. Congratulations Tilly, will miss your sweet happy face was an absolute pleasure training with you
