This delightful cafe offers a wide variety of food and hot and cold beverages all at great prices. One of my faves is their hot chocolate, it is delish.... 20.01.2022 They say the quokka is the happiest animal on the planet.... and judging by these pictures we can see why. The only place you can be sure of seeing these little guys is Rottnest island. Whilst there is a population in the south west corner of Western Australia, the biggest colony is Rotto. Theyre famous for being more than happy to pose for selfies, even Chris Hemsworth got a happy snap not long ago. ... You can jump on Rottnest Fast Ferries, Hillarys Boat Harbour or drive down to fremantle and pick up SeaLink Rottnest Island from shed B Either way youll be sure to enjoy a day exploring this beautiful little island, with stunning beaches, amazing snorkelling, sheltered bays, and most importantly quokka spotting. You can also cycle around the island and up to the lighthouse. So whilst youre staying at Ocean Reef Vista, put this trip on your list of must sees

16.01.2022 F R E M A N T L E Whilst visiting Ocean Reef Vista, we can highly recommend a trip down to Fremantle. The port city dates back to the 1820s. The swan river was first navigated by Captain James Stirling, he reported back to Britain of its favourable location as new settlement. ... The British government at the time were suspicious of the neighbouring French snooping around so sent Captain Charles Fremantle straight back to hoist a Union Jack up. Fremantle is a great city to explore, brimming with history and culture. The oldest building in Western Australia is the round house, standing prominently on Arthur Head. Built between 1830-1831, originally used for housing prisoners before Fremantle prison. Then it was used as a police lockup and then living quarters for the chief constable . From 1936, various agencys have looked after the round house to preserve it as a museum. A gold coin donation entrance fee is all youll need to visit this site. Fremantle Prison is one of the best tours you could do whilst visiting Perth and surrounds. Built on convict labour and opened in 1855, it was a place of dark history. With floggings, hangings, escapes and riots, life at the prison was never dull. Tours run daily and prices start at $22.00 per adult, $12 for children. If youre game enough there is also an evening tour . Depicting the loneliness and suffering of prisoners, executions gone wrong, those falsely imprisoned and those who were guilty as hell. Fremantle markets are a delight to walk around. Built in 1897 and still running today. Open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, offering a variety of food, arts, crafts,clothing as well as the usual tourist shops. At the north end of the market youll be greeted by an array of stalls, with beautiful and vegetables and locally produced foods like honey. Through the rest of the markets there are lots of local vendors offering local handcrafted products and artisans showing their crafts. Best of all its all undercover so its a great place to visit any time of year. The cappuccino strip as exactly what it says, south terrace is lined with cafes, bars and restaurants so youll never go hungry or thirsty. All in all we can definitely recommend visiting this historic port city, with so much to see and learn. Its one to add to the add to the must sees whilst visiting Perth. Its a local favourite of ours and the walk down via the coastal path reminds us of how lucky we are to live in such a stunning area. The top image was taken at 6am and the dark line on the horizon is actually the fog slowly creeping its way to shore By 10am visibility was down to 100 meters This lasted til mid afternoon before the fog dispersed.....

09.01.2022 Whilst staying at ocean reef vista, we can highly recommend Allegria Cafe Located at the shopping centre in ocean reef, either a 3 minute car ride or leisurely 10 minute walk. We had the Honey-roast Pumpkin Bruschetta with spinach, hummus, feta, poached eggs & dukkah on ciabatta for breakfast washed down with a pot of tea. It was totally yummy Theyre open every day for breakfast and lunch, then open Wednesday thru Sunday for dinner.
