24.01.2022 We are having a long weekend here in Perth this weekend to celebrate all things Australian with Australia Day. It is also the last week of our school holidays and with a week like this planned we are spoilt for choice as to what to do, shall we play in our pool, go to one of our beautiful beaches, visit a park for a picnic, go into the city to experience Fringe World or maybe a trip into the Swan Valley for some wine tasting-I could go on and on.

24.01.2022 Ocean View Guest House took delivery of our playground today. Suitable for children and adults to play on and available to use by our guests.

22.01.2022 We have taken a day trip to The Kalamunda History Village. Its only a 45 minute drive from The Ocean View Guest House and well worth the trip out to gain an insight as to how life used to be for people living in Perth Hills.

20.01.2022 WA recently hosted Chris Hemsworth and Matt Damon for a family holiday and Chris rated it one of the best family holidays EVER! So be like Chris and visit WA! U Unfortunately he didnt stay in the Ocean View Guest House so he did miss out on some great value, amazing views and brilliant hosting! Maybe next time, mind you he will have to book early as we are very busy!

18.01.2022 Today I accepted a booking for a month in 2020! Yes we really do get booked up that far in advance! If you know when you want to come and stay with us and have your dates confirmed within the next couple of years then book NOW! I would hate for anyone to miss out on the dates they want.

17.01.2022 Ocean View Guest House gets booked up very very quickly so make sure you get your reservations in early to avoid disappointment. At the moment we have availability in 2019 for half of July, August and half of September and a few days in December! 2020 is booking up fast as well with very limited availability in February and March already. ... Perth is a great place to visit at any time of time year with aircon for the hotter months and heating for the cooler months. The swimming pool can be used all year round as it is heated and the cooler months can be a great time to see the sights.

17.01.2022 We had a little visitor at the guest house today. He didnt hang around too long, but he did enjoy his little swim.

15.01.2022 My brother Andy and his family are currently staying in the Ocean View Guest House and my 2 beautiful nieces are making the most of the toys that live in the guest house for all visiting children to play with.

14.01.2022 Food truck evenings are the new trend here in Perth and they are awesome. We gather down by the beach or at a local park and so do loads of food trucks. There is usually live music and maybe an entertainer or 2 and we watch the sun setting over the ocean whilst eating yummy food with family and friends. Its a must do when you next come and stay at our guest house.

14.01.2022 How much fun does this look like. Watch a movie, in bed, under the stars whilst having food and drink delivered to you. I am definitely going to to give this a try. It opens in Perth on the 18th October and runs through to December and you have to book in advance. What movie do you fancy seeing?

13.01.2022 Here at the Ocean View Guest House we understand how hard it can be travelling with babies as we have four children ourselves. So to make life easier we have set up everything you and your little one could need including a travel cot, high chair, changing mat, baby monitor and even some toys. We even have some car seats for children from 6 months plus that we are happy to lend.As the accommodation is self catering we have a full kitchen including a fridge, microwave, kettle a...nd dishwasher. Also, as a complimentary service, I am more than happy to get in some essentials ready for your arrival. Just send me a shopping list and I will do my best to get everything and I will even put it away for you. You can refund me for the items either in cash when you arrive or via the Airbnb website. I do not charge for my time getting your shopping. Kathryn also has a Working With Children Card and is happy to babysit for a small hourly fee. 13.01.2022 The temperature hit 32oC in Ocean Reef today, that’s not bad for a spring day is it. In fact its perfect for lounging in the garden and taking a dip in the pool all whilst staring out over the beautiful Ocean.

12.01.2022 I do like my ice cream and Sorrento Quay at Hillarys is home to some great ice cream shops including Ben and Jerrys and Cold Rock. My favourite though has to be The Milk Barrel. Why not give them a try when you come and stay with us

11.01.2022 The annual Perth Fringe is currently on. I love this festival as it has acts from WA and around the world, acts for children and adults, free stuff as well as pay to view and such a mix of things to do. If you fancy experiencing this event whilst staying out of the hustle and bustle of the city and walking distance to our beautiful WA beaches then get in quick and book the Ocean View Guest House for next year- yes we really do get booked out that quickly!!

10.01.2022 My brother, his wife and their 2 daughters aged 3 and 11 months have just spent 3 weeks with us staying in the guest house. It was wonderful having them with us and they found it ideal having their own little home complete with kitchen, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, bathroom, travel cot, toys, baby monitor, childrens books, high chair, childrens cutlery etc etc all provided for them. The children loved playing in the pool and on the climbing frame, the dogs made n...ew friends and we all had a great time visiting reptile centres, beaches and parks galore. Here at Ocean View Guest House we love having families spend their holidays with us and we have everything that we can think of that you might need and if you can think of something we dont have we will try to source it for you! I am even happy to get some basic supplies in for you so you dont have to make a panic run to the shops to get nappies or milk. Now my brother and his family have left it is very quiet here and I am very sad, but I am sure it wont be long before we have a garden full of children and giggles again. See more

10.01.2022 The weather in winter here in Perth can be very changeable. Yesterday it was 30 degrees, today 18 degrees and raining! There are lots of great things to do here though no matter the weather and lots of them within a 15 minute drive from the Ocean View Guest House. One of my girls favourites is Aloha Surfhouse where you can learn how to surf inside!! There are also rock climbing walls, a cafe and a surf shop. It is certainly a fun way to spend a few hours no matter what the weather is like.

09.01.2022 Mental health concerns are a very real concern for lots of families in the world, ours included. Many of you will already be aware that Kathryn had a breakdown in 2016. With this in mind Kathryn, Georgie and Robyn have decided to do a sponsored swim during March. Kathryn will do 20km or 2000 laps of our home pool, Georgie will do 6km or 600 laps and Robyn 1km or 100 laps. Please sponsor us, every little bit helps and watch our progress through the link below. 09.01.2022 What are you doing this coming August?? Well there is no reason to be bored as there is lots to do in Perth and all are easily accessible by car or public transport from the Ocean View Guest House. Personally Im going to see Hair the Musical with a friend and might also make a trip to the good food festival.

09.01.2022 Its winter here in Perth and the school holidays will be here in a couple of week so there will be lots of activities going on around Perth to keep the children entertained.

08.01.2022 We are having a beautiful spring week here at the Ocean View Guest House. Spring and Autumn are my favourite seasons here as it is cooler than summer, warmer than winter and the sun shine. So you take a dip in the pool, go to the beach and go sight seeing in our beautiful State. BUT if you want to stay with us at these times then get your bookings in early as we have already started taking bookings well into 2020.

07.01.2022 WA beaches are some of the best in the world. So we decided to rank our beaches! Two of the top 5 metropolitan beaches are within a short drive from the Ocean View Guest House. Number 2 on the list is Scarborough, 20 minutes away by car this beautiful beach also has an outdoor swimming pool, lots of restaurants, cafes and bars and a fantastic new playground and skate park. Mullalloo is number 5 on the list, this is a 5 minute drive, or 30 minute walk if you fancy some exercise. Mullaloo is a long expanse of unspoilt beauty. It has life saving patrols at weekends and during school holidays, a playground and cafes and restaurants.

05.01.2022 We are so lucky here in WA to have some of the most amazing marine life in the world and now we can get boat trips to see Blue Whales. I am hoping to take my children on this trip in April. It is only available for about 8 weeks due to the Whales migration making it a true once in a life time opportunity.

05.01.2022 Fremantle is easy to reach from the Ocean View Guest House by car or public transport and has a wide variety of things to do. One of our favourites is Fremantle Prison which offers a variety of tours from the basic to tunnels and even a torch light ghost tour! It is also an all weather tourist attraction so a great place to visit any time of year.

04.01.2022 Autumn in Perth is a beautiful time of year. It is cool enough to sightsee and enjoy the many outdoor activities that are on offer, but still warm enough to sit on the beach and enjoy the beautiful sunsets. Do you also know that at this time of year it is possible to see Blue Whales feeding off our coastline? Its a well kept secret, but it is now possible to take boat trips to go and see these amazing creatures, hopefully I will be lucky enough to do this one year.
