18.01.2022 Here's a sign it's going to be cold this weekend With parts of the state expecting temp's below zero, snow on the alps and summer a distant memory, many of... us will be turning on the heater, lighting the fire and pulling out the blankets. So keep flammables a 'metre from the heater' and most importantly test that smoke alarm. See more

13.01.2022 With winter frosts causing grassland fuels to cure, we are beginning to see grass fires take hold and threaten homes and other assets. This fire near Glen Innes... burnt around 50ha on Sunday with firefighters undertaking property protection at a number of assets. It is important to have a cleared and maintained line of at least 20 metres around your assets. If you are undertaking pile burning or having a fire pit, make sure you remain with the fire until it is out, and you have enough water to extinguish it, should it escape.

11.01.2022 It’s NSW Youth Week so we’re highlighting some of our younger NSW RFS members like 18-year-old sisters Kiara and Leanne David, who joined the Dural Brigade six ...years ago to volunteer alongside their firefighting brother and father. For the David sisters, the NSW RFS has been a great place to volunteer as a young person they get to meet new people, experience new things and learn skills that help them in life like leadership and working under pressure. 07.01.2022 An important message from Fire and Rescue NSW: Wheat bags can ignite, and are not designed to replace hot water bottles for warming beds. Regularly check your w...heat bag for signs of wear and tear or scorching. With age the fillings dry out and become combustible. Only use wheat bags for direct application to body aches and pains. 04.01.2022 Three cheers for RFS volunteers Bill and Albert! Last Saturday the Bilpin Rural Fire Brigade community celebrated more than 150 years of service by Albert N...ewton and Bill Johnson Snr to the brigade. The COVID-safe celebration included the veteran firies taking a lap of honour in a Cat 1 tanker along the Bells Line of Road.
