19.01.2022 Today is World Day for Safety and Health at Work. This year’s theme focuses on the investment into resilient occupational safety and health systems that help in anticipating, preparing and responding to crisis situations. Safety and health in the workplace has been massively affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.... For our frontline border workers, the nature of their job puts them at greater risk of infection. However, for all our employees, the threat posed by COVID-19 extends beyond catching the virus. There has been a global effect on worker wellbeing, with increases in work related stress and a rise in mental health issues. In our industry, health and safety is at the core of everything we do. With one of our core values being ‘Safety’, we believe everyone deserves to go home safe every day and achieve this by actively creating and maintaining safe working environments. As part of our COVID-19 response, all our teams were fully trained in the use of new equipment, chemicals and PPE required during the pandemic to ensure their and our customers’ safety. #ocswecare #safety #HealthandSafety #covid19 #worlddayforsafetyandhealthatwork

Tracy Hunter, started with OCS two years ago as a Contract Manager for the University of Technology Sydney and only 12 months in she moved into the role as Clients Services Manager, managing a handful of OCS’ Sydney-based customers. 14.01.2022 Niketta Mcgirr is one of our colleagues who #ChooseToChallenge misconceptions and prejudices about cleaning on International Women’s Day 2021. She worked in hospitality before starting a family, but cleaning offered her the flexibility she wanted to work around her children. She joined OCS Australia as a cleaner in 2019, and in two years, she has been promoted to site supervisor/regional team leader, overseeing more than 20 cleaners and multiple sites in Western Australia.
