24.01.2022 Xmas Holiday Squad Training It would be a big shame for those who have trained so hard over the last 2-6 months to waste it by sitting on the couch over Dec/Jan when they could be at the pool. The pool will be closed the week of Xmas but otherwise training will continue over the period at the usual times Monday 3.30pm. Wed 6am.... Friday 3.30pm. EVERYONE IS WECOME The invitation only Tues morning squad will continue to train at 6am on that day. Any queries please call me on 0412 288544 See more

24.01.2022 Evening guys, I mentioned to most on Thursday morning that there is no training tomorrow morning. For our sins Don and I have 75 teenage girls in Sydney next week on a swim tour!! Training will however continue as normal next week. Tues and Thursday from 5.30am onwards and Saturday at 7am. Training will be taken by Michael Silver who many of you will know from lessons and from attending the masterclasses in December. Any queries please call me.

24.01.2022 Just a reminder that whilst we swim on student free days we do NOT swim on public holidays. There will be NO squad or lessons on Monday.

22.01.2022 Evening guys - 3 weeks holidays starting next week. That is crazy!! In an effort to give everyone a sleep in (parents and swimmers alike) I am thinking that if demand justifies it we look to a latter start - 8am to 9.45am EACH DAY Holiday training will be a mixture of core work, stroke development/correction and some endurance work. There will still be training 5.30am to 7am on Monday and Wednesdays for the Adult squad and anyone who has a different school holiday schedule or cannot otherwise make the later starts

20.01.2022 Happy Mothers Day to all you beautiful moms out there. Hope you're getting lots of love and attention today.

19.01.2022 What a stunning way to start the day for the kids on holidays - well 20 regular swimming kids (and their parents) saw it that way. If your kids have not been training let's get them into the pool. The sooner they start the sooner they will get through those awful hard yards of getting fit again. Everyone, regardless of how old they are, how well they swim or how fit they are, is welcome........ #ormistonswimacademy #wintertraining #summerfitnessisbuiltinwinter

17.01.2022 Who is watching the Swimming at the moment??

17.01.2022 Just a reminder that our first Academy night for 2017 is next Friday night - 5.30pm for a 6pm start with BBQ and Bar. The format will be largely the same but with lots of different outcomes. We will have a new on line nomination process, an on line data base of times and prizes for continual improvement. For example 4 continuous PB's will see the swimmer rewarded with an Academy towel with the swimmers name embroided on it. More information to follow. Please remember that the evening is open to everyone regardless of age and regardless of whether they are OC students.

16.01.2022 Reminder that training starts again tomorrow morning everyone. Tues/Thurs mornings at 5.30/6.00/6.30am as the case may be and Saturdays at 7am. Looking forward to seeing everyone back in the pool. 2016 promises to be a ripper!!

01.01.2022 Afternoon everyone, Our first Academy night for 2017 is this Friday at the pool. Warm up at 5.30pm (BBQ and bar operating) with racing at 6pm. EVERYONE is welcome. You do NOT have to be at school at OC to participate. I have given some thought to Academy night formats/outcomes etc and would like to trial a couple of new things for the four Academy nights in Term 1. The whole basis of the program at the pool is to recognise and reward kids who improve - not just kids who win!...! In that regard we will be using a simple web based product called "Swim Tracker" for the next few weeks. In addition to adding a little sophistication to the nomination and time recording process what it does is measure performance against previous times swum. It then awards points to reflect the level of performance - if you compete you will always get a point. If you swim within say 1 sec of a PB you might get 3 points - if you better your PB by say 1 sec you might get 5 points. Awards are then made to recognise each individual's points tally at the end of the term. The system would apply equally to junior swimmers swimming 25m events as well as senior swimmers doing longer events. For example if any swimmer betters a PB in any event on 4 consecutive occasions the swimmer will be presented with an Academy towel with their name embroided on it at the end of season. There would also be awards for swimmers with the highest number of points in each age group and so on. The Swim Tracker data base will also store times so that you, as parents, can access at any time. Please call me on 0412 288544 if you are not currently part of the Academy program at the pool but would like to come along and have a look. Pete Rosengren See more
