25.01.2022 I have an empty boat this Saturday & forecast is "OK" ( at this stage). "Double wreck dive" only, until reef site visibility improves. I have 5 spare seats on Sunday - "double wreck dive" again.... PLEASE phone ( 0438925011) or email ([email protected]) to book or enquire! Thanks Gavin for photo of the Lena.
25.01.2022 Spring is in the air & diving operations WILL recommence as soon as ocean conditions favourable. With a full boat load of divers last Sunday we headed out to the Lena & after 15 very long & rough minutes, headed home! This weekend’s forecast is NOT good, SO hopefully the following weekend, which will be officially SPRING, will see bubbles blown & wet suits wetted. Engine has been serviced; hull anti fouled & we are ready to go!... Saturday 5th September is now ( hopefully) first dive of the season.
24.01.2022 Divers wanted for Monday 16th March - 3 divers so far for double "Lena wreck dive". 9.00 am at the jetty for 9.30 am departure please - please phone on 0438925011 to book. As soon as we receive our Ngari Capes Marine Park "permit", I will post dates that we plan to dive HMAS Swan ( Fridays; Saturdays & Mondays) - all Sundays planned are "pre booked". We are expecting the permit to be issued this week. Thanks divers for the photos!
24.01.2022 The forecast for Sunday (04/10) is very good, so "out we go". " Wreck only", ( double) at this stage, until visibility on the reef improves. 0900 departure - 0845 at the service jetty.... Thanks Amanda for the photos.
24.01.2022 My apologies to various contacts for my recent late replies - technology & dinosaurs are like " chalk & cheese"! BUT dinosaurs roamed for a long time........! Diving next 8 days - Monday to Friday, nothing planned, BUT available.... Saturday & Sunday (26th & 27th), the boat is "pre booked" - leaving Monday 28/09 available- no bookings yet! NO reef diving for a few weeks, until visibility improves - SO, double "wreck dive" only. Thanks " HMS Roberts" (now diving in Qld waters) for the photos!

20.01.2022 I have just returned from beer bottle recycling -102 bottles =$10.20 dividend. Investment cost approx $408 ($4 a bottle) - dividend over 2%!! Bank interest at present approx 0.5% , SO invest your stimulus payments in ( as you know, I am a chartered accountant as well as dive boat operator, & starting to think 2% return on investment not a bad idea!!
19.01.2022 We are going out wreck & reef on Tuesday 17/11 - good weather forecast -3 divers so far, SO room for more. Both tomorrow & Saturday I have cancelled ( due to yukky weather forecast (sad!) BUT some nice days ahead next week. Thanks photographers!

19.01.2022 " Wreck & reef" again tomorrow - showing 2 professional photographers ( Nigel & Stuart) some of Bunbury's "watery" attractions! GOOD forecast for tomorrow - I may even be generous with my pricing AND I promise not to hug you, or shake your hand etc. Thanks Laura & Amanda for photos!... I will be getting some beauties from N & S!!
19.01.2022 3 spare seats for Sunday , weather still looking good! Phone (0438925011) or email ([email protected]) if you wish to join us.... Thanks photographers!
18.01.2022 I took 3 friends out yesterday for a dive on a new "local reef" - "private" dive. A circular reef, 15 metres max depth & only 1.5 miles south of Bunbury AND "lots of corals" & 2 nice crays! ( thanks Tony; Laura & Gean for coming out to give the boat a run & get the skipper offshore again). I have completed the AHA Hospitality & Tourism COVID -19 Hygiene Course & now have the " Advanced" course to complete ( available 06/05). Once I have done that then we ( Cross Country & I) can resume dive charters & show you our new reef!
18.01.2022 We are going out " wreck & reefing" on Saturday 07/11 ( & Sunday 08/11). 4 divers so far for Saturday & 5 for Sunday . Lobsters WILL ( hopefully) be included in the lunch menu as an old dinosaur mate of mine caught 8 nice whites just recently not vfar from where we will be diving.... Our total catch this season = NIL! Thanks photographers!
17.01.2022 Divers needed for tomorrow -8 spare seats & if the weather is like today, then wow! Today was sensational out on & under the briny. Wreck & reef ( max 20 metres on the reef) both... Boasted 20 metres vis. Tomorrow is 2 x wreck & maybe 1 x short reef (max depth on reef 12 metres)
17.01.2022 I have 2 spare seats for tomorrow ( 30/12) - 2 booked have cancelled. Wreck & Reef - stunning conditions! Thanks Laura for photos... Please phone to book (043892501) or email ([email protected])
17.01.2022 Sadly, as from today we will NOT be operating any dive charters until the "storm has passed". Good luck to you all & try to stay safe & healthy. " Smelling the roses", I suggest should be contemplated by all of us.... We in the South West live in paradise & we have plenty of opportunity to "smell the roses". Unless the storm is still blowing, we will be operating again as from October (2020).
16.01.2022 Any one interested in a dive tomorrow ( Friday) - I have one diver interested & need minimum of 2 more! Good forecast!
15.01.2022 AHA Hospitality & Tourism COVID -19 Hygiene Officer Course now completed, SO, ready for sea! All that is missing are customers.... Over the "winter months" we will be offering "scenic cruises", via Koombana Bay Dolphin Cruises, using our existing boat. The "scenic cruises" will be for a minimum of 1.5 hours & will encompass dolphin & whale interaction (providing dolphins & whales interact with us).... Until COVID19 - 19 restrictions are lifted, "scenic cruises" will be restricted to private groups of no more than 5 ( mums; dads; uncles; aunties; kids etc) - pricing will be $60 per head for first 2 & $30 thereafter. Over the winter months, if we can get a minimum of 3 divers , we will go out to the Lena dive wreck, mainly for single dives - $100 each ( including one cylinder) or $90 without. HOWEVER if you wish a double dive ( "dry suit divers"), we will oblige ( normal rates apply). We can accommodate 10 divers - 5 downstairs & 4 upstairs ( complying with 4 square metre per person rule). We are ready to go & will have a 2 week break 08/06 - 22/06, whilst I have a new exhaust system fitted ( to me, not the boat). Thanks to HMS Roberts for the photo of my boat & to "film star" Tex for the Lena photo!
15.01.2022 Well, COVID 19 restrictions are being eased & I was lucky to get back out on the briny for 3 days last week & ENJOYING first $$ for 2 months, then along came storm & tempest 1 & 2 & No 3 is due on Friday , which wipes out Saturday & Sunday BUT the forecast for Monday is good! SO if any interest, then out to the Lena we go - 3 (experienced) divers is all that is required.
15.01.2022 Diving next 7 days: 27/12 - 1 spare seat 28/12 - 5 spare seats 29/12 - 9 spare seats... 30/12 - 1 spare seat 31/12 - 11 spare seats 02/01 - 11 spare seats 03/91 - 9 spare seats Wreck & reef - minimum of 2 dives, normally 3 ( on 2 cylinders) Thanks photographers!
14.01.2022 Divers invited on COVID 19 free board on Wednesday , for double Lena dive - soup; tea & coffee provided & 70% alcohol hand wash for cocktails! 2 divers so far ( thanks Tammy W) & another one or two would be nice . 9.00 am at the jetty for 0915 depart - back in by 1.30 pm.
14.01.2022 The boat is fully booked to a university dive club over the next 3 days, SO, sorry, not available for other bookings. BUT the forecast next week is superb ( Wednesday onwards), so hope to go out "wreck & reef" on Thursday or Friday. Any "FIFO" divers, or others, wishing a mid week dive??... Boat will be back in Bunbury, so " Lena & local Bunbury reef". Thanks Gavin; Laura & Natalie for photos. Lena's Port Jackson was sighted (by some) on Tuesday.
14.01.2022 Bunbury IS a scenic cruise destination #koombanabaydolphincruises - welcome Jon & Marie#bunburygeographe
13.01.2022 We had a VERY pleasant day yesterday (& Saturday) & yesterday , thanks to Peyter; Giles & Tony, we all had a crayfish each for lunch. ALSO on Saturday - fresh bread rolls; freshly cooked ; pepper & vinegar! Thanks divers!!... 2 first time Lena divers on Saturday & 5 yesterday - visibility was stunning - both days wreck & reef - reef being 3 miles north of Bunbury. YES, Bunbury is a dive destination & where else can you get a free feed of crayfish?
13.01.2022 Divers, are you interested in diving the " SS Pericles" ?- she is approx 180 metres long & situated in just under 30 metres, 6.5 miles south east of Cape Leeuwin. I have access to a charter vessel which can take you out (max 12 divers +1 D/M/Instructor) from Augusta Boat Harbour. Single dive only on the " Pericles" with shallower reef dive to follow.... This is one wreck that I have not personally dived, but very keen to do so. A few friends have dived it & "wow factor" is a result. She sunk in 1910, so is a bit older than Lena; Perth or Swan! Advanced & experienced divers ONLY - no anchoring - drop you in & circle then pick up after max of 40 minutes. Have a double dive off Augusta; stay overnight then back to Bunbury for more "wreck & reef"!! SO , we now have Lena; Pericles & Swan (albeit political) on the diving menu.
13.01.2022 Diving schedule over the " Christmas break": ( all out of Bunbury, on FV Lena dive wreck & local Bunbury reef - max depth 18 metres): 23/12 0 booked, 10 spare seats... 24/12 0 booked, 10 spare seats 26/12 3 booked, 7 spare seats 27/12 2 booked, 8 spare seats 28/12 0 booked, 10 spare seats 29/12 0 booked, 10 spare seats 30/12 3 booked, 7 spare seats 31/12 0 booked, 10 spare seats 02/01/21 to 09/01/21 0 booked, 10 spare seats The boat is fully booked 18/12/20 to 22/12/20. HOPEFULLY, summer will present itself soon & warm weather; good visibility & calm(ish) seas will be present? Discounts apply for "group" ( 2 or more) bookings. I will go out with just 3 divers & obviously, weather permitting ( 80% prediction of good weather). Thanks photographers!!
13.01.2022 SS Pericles update - LOTS of interest , but skipper advises February; March; April & May the best months. As site is very much weather dependent , possibly diving could be deferred with only 48 hours notice. Plan will be to plan to go out Saturday & Sunday each week until interest wanes. Flexibility will be the key here divers - you will not be diving it if 5 metre swells prevail.... Ancient diver Dr Peter Buzacott advises 30-35 metres, & a challenging dive, so no new chums. Watch this spot!
12.01.2022 Surf Life Saving down in Bunbury for training - good to see! LOTS of dolphins as well to see , with Koombana Bay Dolphin Cruises!
11.01.2022 Lots of enquiries as to diving this week end, BUT as much as I would love to take you out, we would get blown to Antarctica! BIG storm coming, so stay home . SHOULD be OK by mid next week. Thank you all for enquiring !

10.01.2022 Grandmother & daughter UP from Margaret River to enjoy Koombana Bay Dolphins ( with Koombana Bay Dolphin Cruises) - thanks Maureen for bringing granddaughter & yourself to Bunbury ( which IS a scenic cruise destination...). School holidays & just 2 passengers this morning & 2 this afternoon- LOTS of dolphins!!
10.01.2022 CONSIDERING that the forecast for Sunday (13/09) is for light east winds, I was CONSIDERING heading out to our "sunken treasure" for a single dive ( or double, if the water not too nippy). $90 , single or double - minimum of 3 divers required. (tea; coffee; cake & soup of the day included)... IF cylinder(s) are required, then extra $15 each. CONSIDERING that it is early Spring & morning temperature in need of a lift, I suggest a 0915 departure (0900 at the jetty). To book, please phone (0438925011) or email ([email protected]) - a deposit MAY be requested upon booking. Thanks photographers for the 3 photos.
09.01.2022 Out to sea we go tomorrow - 3 divers so far - "wreck & reef" ( 2 x wreck & 1 x reef) - you can do any combination - 2 or 3 dives ( on 2 x cylinders). GOOD weather forecast - NO " online booking" please!!

07.01.2022 The forecast for Friday ; Saturday & Sunday is superb - the boat is fully booked on Sunday, but no takers YET for Friday & Saturday. We "wrecked & reefed" over the weekend & visibility was approx 15 metres at both wreck & reef sites & water temp around 18 degrees. On Saturday, in 23 metres, the divers could see the boat clearly from the bottom!... Thanks to 2 x Davids for boat photos!
07.01.2022 We are going out Tuesday ( FV Lena & local reef) -2 divers so far - room for 8 more! Good weather forecast & maybe a lobster or 2 for lunch? Thanks photographers!

I will be asking $165 for a double dive & will NOT be providing cylinders. Cylinders need to be 220 bar ( 33 metre dive) - my compressor is only filling to 200 bar. Nitrox is available at local dive shops ( CWD in Bunbury, plus they fill to 220 bar) Thanks Max for photos!
05.01.2022 Divers wanted for Monday &/or Tuesday next week - good weather forecast - "Lena dive wreck & local Bunbury reef". We are not going out to the " Lena" this weekend, but available again Monday & Tuesday & IF the weather is "OK" , Thursday & Friday. Thanks to photographers!
04.01.2022 We are going out next Wednesday ( wreck & reef )( Bunbury) & have 4 divers so far AND room for 6 more! Weather forecast is very good, so, no excuses..... Thanks photographers!!... Dive guide available if any divers wish their hands to be held!

Dolphins; Whales; Seabirds; Shipping movements AND history of early American; Dutch; English ; French & Noongar exploration.
04.01.2022 Would I love ( at a safe social distance) another diver or two for Monday's "double wreck" dive. 2 divers & "moi" are heading out - GOOD forecast & I can guarantee you 15 - 20 metre vis! Today was stunning ( below the waves), but not much fun on top with wind gusts of 25 knots.... Thanks Tonya & Anika for coming down to Bunbury & out for your first " Lena dive" ! Sorry that it was a bit windy, but at least it was good under the waves! Thanks divers for the photos.
04.01.2022 Thanks to Kayla + 9 divers who came out yesterday with me & to Alison + 8 who came out Saturday . My apologies to divers yesterday for being grumpy re wrong boarding location. The strong wind forecast came in just after I got my boat back to Bunbury & had it come in earlier, o would have been stuck down in Busselton. I will try to be less grumpy in future.... I think it is time this old fossil thinks about staying ashore. Both days were very pleasant & thank you all again!
03.01.2022 We are diving the Lena tomorrow - just 2 divers so far. 9.00 am at the jetty - good weather forecast.
03.01.2022 Fancy a dive on New Year’s Eve? ( morning dive) - 3 divers booked, SO 7 spare seats! ENJOY your diving - maximum of 10 divers - not just bottoms on seats! Thanks photographers!!... Wreck & reef -20+ metre vis guaranteed!
03.01.2022 The "Blade Coral" should be something that Bunbury promotes? 33 metres is depth of most of the sites - just a nice depth! SUPERB coral dive site - right on our door step - 15 miles off Bunbury! ... Pristine reef, not "flogged" like many Barrier Reef sites...... Bunbury IS a dive destination.......... Thanks Laura & Max for photos!
02.01.2022 These fishy fellows await you! Spring diving starts this week ! I will get a weather report tomorrow & see how the sea is forecast for the weekend....... I suggest single dive only until vis gets above 6-7 metres -$90 per diver -$100 with cylinder supplied.
02.01.2022 Happy ; Hopefully Healthy & More Hopefully Safe New Year to you all. Diving over the next 7 days: Sunday 03 - 5 spare seats... Tuesday 05 - 2 spare seats Wednesday 06 - 3 spare seats Saturday 09 - 10 spare seats Sunday 10 - 5 spare seats Visibility has been stunning. By the way, I do NOT leave my boat unattended - attached photo from yesterday ( thanks Gean) was after I cleaned fouled water intake ( engine overheating) - note 15 metre regulator hose. Water intake was cleared & all OK. Option was to damage engine? or hop over the side & sort out the problem! Thanks photographers!!
02.01.2022 Change of plans for this Saturday's diving - now to be 1 x Lena and 1 x reef (south of Bunbury). Why? - the dredge has arrived & is dredging the shipping channel & dropping silt near our dive sites north of Bunbury = reduced/minimal visibility!! 6 spare seats are available for Saturday!... Thanks Gavin & Colin for photos.
