25.01.2022 Good move from CASA. Protecting safety and privacy. Protecting the industry from unlicenced operators.

21.01.2022 Finally we can show the 360 video that we shot up in Cairns last year for Catalyst VRs client American Express. The opening 2 shots were shot with our 7 gopro 360 rig underneath our DJI S1000 octocopter. It was an awesome experience being dropped into the gorge in the middle of nowhere by helicopter. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JL8EH5UREKQ&t=7s

20.01.2022 Oculair headed out on to the open road this morning kitted up for an interesting shoot. Where will it take us? What will we shoot. Stay tuned.

20.01.2022 We can finally post our latest project that weve been working on with Rogue Creative and Sydney Metro. Shot with our custom RC Terra buggy, stitched and post produced in house. Make sure to choose a high resolution for best effect. Stop anywhere you like and have a look around. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XyQ2JP8L7Kc

18.01.2022 And another timelapse. Get off your devices people. the world is an awesome place if you take the time to look. https://youtu.be/DPI5sklpCF4

18.01.2022 Haven't posted in a while so I thought I'd share some ground based stills taken at dawn in Northern Tasmania on the way to a job in Launceston. It's a beautiful part of the world.

17.01.2022 Just back from a quick roadtrip down to the west of Victoria for another 360 drone shoot for the guys at Start VR. Beautiful part of the country. So grateful to have the opportunity to see so much of this wonderful country of ours.

17.01.2022 So, this arrived this morning.

16.01.2022 Our team have been shooting with the incredible Insta360 Pro 2. When asked what they thought of the kit, their first response was "Quite frankly, impressed!".

16.01.2022 Had a wonderful opportunity when retained by the Clipper around the world yacht race team to spend two incredible days on the harbour to welcome into Sydney the boats on their leg from Fremantle to Sydney. About 13 days racing and when battling for 8th and 9th Great Britain and Nasdaq raced down the harbour, side by side never more than a hundred metres apart to finish in a deadheat. Very exciting to be a part of. All shots were from a RIB. No aerials this time. For more information on the race and the organisation go to https://www.clipperroundtheworld.com Next leg is Sydney to Hobart on boxing day.

16.01.2022 A lot of people are quick to blame drones for all sorts of incidents. http://www.news.com.au//n/61c86491fcacf23267764d43268aad36

15.01.2022 A different view of the Superclass finals from the recent NSW BMX state championships at Castle Hill BMX. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1T3YkcDlpY https://youtu.be/pd_iNqwLur8

13.01.2022 Busy chasing trains.

13.01.2022 Very excited to share with you our latest showreel showcasing some of the wonderful jobs we have worked on recently. https://vimeo.com/225664198 View in 4K for maximum benefit.

13.01.2022 Here is a demonstration of our Kandao Obsidian camera, capable of 8K mono, or 3d stereoscopic output, on our cable cam system that can span up to 100m, also with spatialised audio. If you are watching with headphones on listen for the sound moving around you as you change your view. This can be a great way to showcase a warehouse, factory, building foyer, office or showroom and can be setup inside or outside with no safety concerns or drone permission issues. https://youtu.be/GeKPnEG1I_s

12.01.2022 Another quick trip for some 360 drone goodness. Where did we find ourselves this time?

12.01.2022 For curious drone flyers.

12.01.2022 A little something we shot for the StartVR guys last week. Beautiful day for it. Bit hectic keeping people 30m away at the park but with a crew of 4 we managed it.

12.01.2022 Made it as far as Bangalow, to be hosted by two of the most generous people I know. Thanks Lyle and Mel. First time I recall seeing the Milky Way with my naked eyes. Also managed to see about half a dozen of the aqualiid meteors. Still not there yet.

12.01.2022 I wonder if I got enough?

12.01.2022 Here is a short behind the scenes film shot by the extremely talented Ollie Khedon for Catalyst VR. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bXdrg4jnzqU

11.01.2022 I thought this was interesting. https://www.youtube.com/watch

10.01.2022 Another great location shoot for the guys at Catalyst VR. This time on the Great Ocean Road shooting 360 drone footage for the Kia Stinger. This car is an absolute rocket ship. If you saw it and went for a ride without seeing the badge you would swear it was a high performance big Euro brand. Wow!

08.01.2022 We did not contribute to this clip at all but what an amazing example of where this industry has climbed to. In the early days there were no gimbals to keep the footage smooth. The cameras were not developed to shoot 4K at high frame rates, the video links back to the pilots were analogue, short range and suffered badly from interference. Flash forward 6-8 years and we have this as an example of what can be done. Its a very different genre to the cinematic aerials that drone...s have predominantly been used to capture. This is FPV flying, first person view, where the pilot is wearing a set of goggles showing him a live view from the drone. The drones are small racing models reaching speeds of over 100 kph. I wonder how many were lost or destroyed in the making of this. I think Im going to have to brush up on my close proximity high speed flying skills. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DYHUuJAle8A

05.01.2022 Weve been working behind the scenes to develop drone based 360 VR video capture with a custom gimbal system to remove a lot of the hard work in stabilising the footage whilst stitching. Here is a test shot we have done a quick stitch on, no post stabilisation, shot with our 7 camera rig. Watch with a head mounted display, on a phone or tablet to get the full effect. If watching on a computer drag the mouse on the image to look around.... https://vimeo.com/229245782

04.01.2022 A little timelapse of the cold front that rolled through last Tuesday.

02.01.2022 Havent posted in a while so I thought Id share some ground based stills taken at dawn in Northern Tasmania on the way to a job in Launceston. Its a beautiful part of the world.
