25.01.2022 2020 - Referee Coverage Well done to the Orange referees! 2020 has been an outstanding year for match official coverage. This Sunday will see our 6th weekend (11 days) of football and we will have achieved the following appointments statistics:-... 210 matches with 630 available positions 6 days have achieved 100% coverage 1 day has achieved 99% coverage 2 days have achieved 92% coverage This weekend has 32 matches with 99% coverage, that’s 96 positions with 95 covered. No doubt someone will pick up the remaining AR2 position and give us another 2 days of 100% coverage. Well done to Angus our appointments officer who has been able to manage the scheduling process to achieve these outstanding figures. Have an enjoyable and safe weekend. Regards Nick, President.

25.01.2022 ***Saturday 15th August Weather Update*** UPDATE - 11:55am Waratahs: Fields are closed. The 2 matches involving Cowra will be played at JBP at the same times. The other match will not go ahead. Other venues: All matches are ON.

25.01.2022 The Orange Referees were invited to officiate today’s annual Harmony Cup where 4 teams battled it out in a round robin competition. After the preliminary rounds the Indigenous team were on top with 9 points and African Nations, South America and Nepali/Indian teams equal on five points. Following a count back on goal difference the grand final was played between the Indigenous and African Nation teams in a tight 2-1 contest where the Indigenous team proved too strong in the final minutes. Well done to all participants, event organisers and officials and the supportive and enthusiastic spectators, it was a wonderful event on a fantastic Spring day. Next year promises to be a bigger and better event!

20.01.2022 The Milthorpe junior and senior football club is among many district clubs who receive appointments from the ODFRA. Last weekend saw 6 referees attend Redmond oval to manage the U12 and A grade matches. For the 2020 season these referees have managed an FFA cup, 5 have done NPL or WPL matches and a junior referee was appointed to his first centre. A big thank you goes out to the Milthorpe football club for being so welcoming.

19.01.2022 Another great job this weekend by Angus our appointments Officer. With 54 matches across Saturday and Sunday and 162 positions to fill, Angus was able to fill 156 of these. I would also like to thank our referees who have been generous in their availability which enabled covering 96% of all positions. At long last it looks as though we have a sunny weekend so let’s enjoy it while we can. I look forward to seeing you all this weekend, regards Nick, President.

09.01.2022 A big thank you to Kearney Robinson for once again giving up his weekend to support the growth and development of football referees in the Orange district. Kearney, who was one of this years Hyundai A League grand final match officials provided group and one on one training sessions and support across 3 days for referees of all ages and qualification levels. Dear referees, the release of round 1 draws for A and B grade are expected on Monday evening with others to follow. With the season imminent we will now soon be calling for your availability. We understand that you may be unable to submit availability due to some draws not being ready, we understand this and will look to keep availability submission open as long as possible. In order to submit ...availability you must be registered. On the 13th of July this distribution list will be deleted with a new one made up based on referee registration details at that date. May I suggest if you intend to referee this year that you complete your registration as soon as possible.
